So no if one wants to keep job and one isn't sure a voluntary inspection takes the hassle out of whether you be fired or not and will get the job done. My one student did this over Hos guess what company got slapped with about 25k in fines all to the safety dept. know what he got from company, a raise, new truck, and home every weekend with the miles to boot.
bad idea is to do nothing and quit, and let someone else get hurt or hurt somebodies family.
oh and by the way my score and students csa score still 0. So not sure what your problem is -
I don't know if you would consider my advice as good but don't drive for a company that can't maintain the braking system or sub-systems to help slow or stop the truck.
I don't know what weight you are hauling on average but I don't think you are running a road train, however a heavy truck that has the engine brake kicking in every time you step on the brakes is a disaster waiting to happen.kaygirl Thanks this. -
one truck (the one with the foot brake putting the retarder on) is a pocket road train with a limit of 80,000kg. we took 79,000kg of potatoes to the markets. takes a bit of getting used to applying the brakes then goosing the accelerator so you don't keep heavily decelerating. and a driver and/or company can be fined for using retarders/engine brakes in a residential area for excessive noise.
the other is a b-double that took 30,000kg of potatoes to a factory.
