Rumor has it that we have about a dozen "New" trucks headed to our dedicated account sometime in the near future. I'm hoping for some day cabs cause I have no use for the big sleeper.

Yup. Red, white, and boo hoo. It was bound to happen. I know I shouldn't say this in "public," but it would almost be better if HTLD would do away with the aquatint. Having anything but 'Gordon' on the side just isn't right. And for me, it's still "them" and "us." I don't know that I'll ever get to the "we" part of it...and I say that pulling a Heartland trailer today.

You must be that driver I saw driving the worn out old Buske-red truck on 131 a couple of months ago with the big smile on his face. :)

No that was not me. LOL.. We only have one of those old beaters left and its in the shop all the time. Not that any of our smurf trucks are any better. We have a constant rotation of trucks going down to either Freightliner or Cummins for a variety of issues. I think at one point a few months ago we had 15 trucks down out of the apx 40 we have on the account. A few drivers got a nice 2 week vacation since there were spare trucks for them to drive.

Well its been a long week for me here. 7 things fixed or replaced on my truck in the last 4 days. That was at 4 different places also.... Now it looks like I might be good to go. Heading to Tulsa Ok. for a monday drop. Left Rancho this morning and did 653 miles to grants NM... I wanted to make it to Sky City but would be about 5 minutes short, So stopped here with 15 min. on my clock. Hope to get a PP back west from there.

Time for my bed . Later all

I am parked for the night after running out of hours 150 miles from my delivery... pick up 3.5 hrs tomorrow and will finish then park until monday when good hours start falling off..

when I finish I will have over 4900 miles in my first 10 days and that is after having to wait on a few occasions for appointments.

very productive start... only glitch has been the neutral starting switch on my clutch pedal went out so I have not been able to turn my truck off in over a week....

we do have the battery powered apus on our trucks but no one seems to really care if we use them or not as they dont have a lot of confidence in them. They have the trucks set so we can idle them if need be..

when I can turn mine off I will find out how this freightliner park smart system performs... not holding out high hopes though...lol

Why don't you make a jumper for the switch than you can shut it off and start it? I had my bunk load center apart today on my new truck and hooked my bunk heater up so it would run without turning the ignition on. I might try to not idle tonight since it only goes down to the teens here in Anchorage.

No posts in the past few days from me....been in a pretty bad place since things with GTI went sour.

So my new adventures will start on Monday. I have decided to go with Holland Enterprises out of Fargo,ND. Get on a train on Sunday morning orientation is on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Holland are a reefer company doing a LOT of true coast to coast and have APU's in all trucks but no inverters, however they WILL install my inverter free of charge for me (a 2,000 watt pure sinewave that cost me close to $700!!!). A good pet policy, reasonable pay and the like. I will probably start up a new thread as there is very little on Holland here.

They have around 300 trucks and 400 trailers (so a lot of live loads I know.....) and run truly all 48 states, almost all is reefer freight with a few van loads here and there (backhauls I would think). I am looking forward to this new start.
