    Hey guys,
Im looking to getting into trucking after I get out of Army in November. Ive already found a school in Las Cruces NM to attend and after following this thread and DFO's I have decided that Schneider would be a good fit for me. I know this is for I/C's but what is it like working on the company side as far as getting home time wise? I plan on going I/C after I get the time to do it but have to start somewhere and think this would be the best place for me. Thanks in advance. Keep your wheels turning I enjoy the read. By the way Im in Kuwait right now so look forward to the post to keep me going and positive on being deployed.

We will strive to keep these threads interesting for ya while we motor around. In the west I never had a problem getting home time when I wanted it. Usually took about week to get me home (on company) rule of thumb was, for every week out you earned 1 day off. My experience in trucking the 1st week out and the week coming home usually kinda sucked getting miles so I would usually stay out for longer periods and they would run me to the east coast/mid west and back even tho my position was "western regional". Congrats on your decision! best of luck brother! stay upbeat out there looking forward to your updates!

Deliver today in Washington then on down to Stockton CA with a load out Forest Grove OR. Then will zig zag my way back to Southern Ca by grabbing a load out of Modesto CA going to Clearfield UT and from Clearfield (P/U at drop, love when that happens) going on down to Mira Loma CA. Going right by the house! awesome! Of course, I kinda planned that way :biggrin_255: because I can!

Forgot how much I enjoy the scenery up here in Cali..

Had to grab a shot of the Weed Shack! Cracks me up every time I see this place. Just the name is entertaining enough for me to snap a picture..

Actually Im at Camp Arifjan. This is my first easy deployment per se they are tearing down Camp Virginia everything is going to be going through AJ now. Not sure how long its been since you been this way but they have gotten rid of Ali Asalem also. I did read through his original post I think Just getting current updates so I can keep up on how Schneider is treating everyone. SO far they seem to be the better out of the big carriers and I like the way everyone says they treat them. Does anyone currently know what they are paying mileage wise for inexperienced drivers? I've looked but I cant find it anywhere.

In the West it is less than East. When i started it was .26 then you get raises I believe every 3 months the first year. After a year and 4 months as company driver I was up to .32 cents. I know it sounds less than some companies but keep in mind that most companies don't have the freight SNI does. They keep you moving if you do your part and build relationship with your DBL. Also West coast drivers seem to get better miles and less headaches than east coast SNI, just FYI when your doing your research and talking to other SNI drivers. Find out where they drive out of..
