You do not use comdata for scale. You scale the load and pay for ticket. Then write your drivercode, trip number on the scale ticket and scan it in with your trip paperwork and you will get reimbursed on your check.

Clay, that is policy at Swift. If they feel that the roads are bad and you are at a terminal, they will close it down. They would rather tell a customer that the load will be late then tell them that they are not getting the load since it is all over the interstate. There are some things that we also have issues with, but we have just learned to deal with them, at least most of us. You would be surprised at how many drivers here at Swift that have lots of years being here. Tangerine, I am glad that you are giving it a chance. I know that it is hard. I was with a company that was bought out by Swift, MNX, and it was hard. No one knowing what was going on.

Just, don't scan it at a Swift terminal.
Those scanners are cheap, and the yellow paper comes out as all black. If they can't read it you won't get paid for it.
Instead, use the Trans-Flo scanners at Pilot, Flying J or Love's.

Well, I turned my truck in last week. I'm moving on. Too much turmoil for me.
Maybe I'm wrong for leaving, but poor pay and too much bull#### doesn't sit well with me. I'm sure I'll have a new set of headaches wherever I go, but at least I can deal them from the beginning.
I thought Swift would leave Central operate as a separate company. Don't know why I thought that, but there you have it, I was wrong. I don't know much about the big corporate world, I've always worked for small private companies during my construction career.
I hold no malice towards Swift, I just chose not to not to stay. Good luck guys, your better men than me. I hope they get it ironed out soon.

There is a 'cover sheet' where you write load number, truck, trailer and driver code... Put that on top, all the BOL and hand it to the clerk at a Loves/Flying J/Pilot... They scan it, hand it back to you with a confirmation receipt... Done

We didn't have any of the cover sheets at first... Had to ask a fellow SWIFT driver for a couple... You can't just copy them, they each have a separate bar code and number...

You can get the scan (cover) sheets at any terminal.
It's the first page that goes in on the scan. Then the BOL page(s) and any other things that need to be scanned after that - like scale tickets or lumper receipts.

At most truck stops the Trans-Flo scanner is in the open, and you do the scanning. Some of them have behind the desk, and the employee scans it for you.
If you have more than one trip to scan make sure they scan them separately. Scanning more than one trip in the same batch can sometimes result in a missed trip scan.
If that happens you will not get paid for that trip until it is scanned in again.

Make sure you write all the trip info on the first BOL sheet (trip number, truck number, trailer number and your driver code), and do the same for scale tickets and any other things that you expect to be reimbursed for with that load.

In addition to the scan sheets you can also get extra seals and blank BOL's from the terminals. You will sometimes need them.
And don't forget to pick up those Comcheck's when you get low on them.

    And, yes.
If you are out of something when you are out there, find one of us Swifties for some supplies.

I left central Jan 27th. Have been with my new company for the pass week and a half and I haven't seen but 2 Central trucks on I20, 85, & 75...but have still seen plenty swift trucks. Anybody catch the drift. And don't get me wrong I use to love central but swift ruin them as a lot of folks will agree.
