Yes, they could certainly write that into the contract. As it stands now if a L/O tampers with any of the safety devices their contact can be cancelled for that.

The only truck driving jobs I can see NOT having cameras pointed at drivers soon is the Union drivers, they would strike over it. But everybody else will have one in their truck soon pointed right at them.
-
I got harassed every time I parked my trailer for home time at a company that was under strike by the drivers at the time.
A year and a half. I never pulled freight in or out. just dropped and picked up my empty trailer. I will forever have the impression that Unions are made up of vile people for the level of harassment I received.
What did they get after almost 2 years. Return to work while continuing to negotiate and a 10 percent reduction in drivers returning to work because the economy had got worse. 10 percent of them lost their jobs!
I laughed. I only wish I could know that certain faces in that crowd were the ones without a job. -
JimmyBones, I'm not a driver yet, but I agree with you. I think the new cameras will be beneficial more times than not, unless you are one of those drivers that don't follow company policies to begin with.JimmyBones Thanks this. -
drivers that don't follow company policies to begin with They are usually the ones doing the WHINING AND CRYING when changes are put into place
