Done. Already got word back from my DBL that she's got me available tomorrow at 0700.

Thanks for the advice! It is appreciated :)

I have been following this thread and I am not a Schneider driver but I have been leaning toward them as a potential company to be an IC. I have never heard of the term DBL. Can someone tell me what that stands for? I may have heard it called something else.

I did talk to a recruiter and she told me that I had to have a year OTR or 6 months with Schneider as a company driver. I have about 3 months left with my current company to have a full year in.

Dbl - driver business leader. The first person we call for anything. They do not dispatch us on loads. The planners do that.

Thank you for the quick response. I have not heard of them. That is something new I learned today.

You need to pay attention to your own times don't depend on the dbl or Qualcomm to fix your hours.

Assuming you are delivering in the evening, stop before you go in the gate, just kinda pull off to the side of the roundabout, then there are 2 doors on the front of the building, an employee door and a front desk door, go bang on both of them till someone finally sees you, then wave your bills at them so they don't just stare at you with this dumb look on their face, finally some guy will come over and sign your bills, but he'll ask for a pen because he lost his so make sure you got yours. Then go in the gate and take a right, and tell me if the chip trailer is STILL hanging out of the delivery van doors, blinding you from being able to see if anything is coming around the corner in the back.

Then, on a serious note, before you go any further, stop and get out and walk around to the backside of the building because depending on how many trailers they got jammed in that lot, you may end up like I did LOL. Gotta get creative on turning around in that place, that is for sure. They are cool with letting you park on street outside the gate if you want to break there. GOOD LUCK haha.

Not sure what I'm missing here, Moosc. I made my NAT 0700 tomorrow on the QC, sent an e-mail to my DBL and she replied that she'd made me available at that time, too. Because of the truck issues, and not knowing when it would be done, she had me as unavailable. I've said before that I'm still in the 'call me every morning so I can hear your voice' phase with my DBL, so everything I do gets run through her first thing in the morning.

Just got a pre-assign, picking up an empty about 90 miles from here just over 2 hours after my NAT; seems reasonable. When I chose my NAT, I chose when I would be in the driver's seat, ready to roll - PTI done, the little bit of stuff that's in this hotel room back in the truck, etc - not when I was gonna roll my behind out of the sack and get my day started.

Driver, I'd say you are on the ball.
Nice to know that they are showing diligence in helping new drivers get off on the right foot. My training DBL was great too. See him often still. Always greets me with a smile and a how are you doing. 2 years later.
    Good luck and safe travels.

Watch your weather really closely, Upper Midwest through the Northeast getting weather til Monday.

Dont overdrive conditions. Leave plenty of room ahead and slow down or just find a place to stop if need be. Keep a good eye on your navigo and begin slowing even more much sooner than you would otherwise. Dan Peirce has been really stressing "right to stop unsafe work" as "captain of your ship". No harm, no foul.

Look forward to meeting you if you are ever in the "OC of a Thousand Lakes" AKA Obetz. I run daycab , usually pulling back in mid to late afternoon.

I'll keep that in mind, Mickey!

I saw the weather, it looks horrible! Talked briefly to my husband this afternoon - he is 'enjoying' his 15th snow day this school year, 14 of which (I think) have been this calendar year. (he's a school teacher, in case you missed that!) I am so over winter...seriously sick of this garbage! Whoever is praying for snow, please stop!!

In order not to keep hijacking DFOs thread, let's go to this one that I started before I started orientation? http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...er/240376-orientation-green-bay-2-4-14-a.html
