Again from the other thread I don't agree with the industry just trying to explain how it works. Everyone blames the companies but the real problem lies with the mega shippers. They call all the shots including delivery times.
Tyson was bad about scheduling. They would give you just enough time to get there plus about 2 hours on a 2 day trip. What they did not figure was multiple drops if you got one of them loads or even the load coming out late was pawned on you. Does the company refuse the load or go after the well paying load? If you don't take it someone else will. Basically it's company plays shipper's game and the driver plays the company's game. -

Not some, most of us got it but there's always a few that thinks Abe was clearly at fault. This is why truckers cant get anything done.People cant unite as one.

I heard about Hirshbach.Glad they never hired me a few yrs ao when I applied there.I know what you're saying and how companies operate which you;ll find everywhere, especially with reefer.KB is one of the more aggressive companies. They wont give drivers a moments piece untll you're at the customer. They call drivers continuously and they will send other drivers to wake them up even though they know you're on your 10 hr brk and sleeping. You better be up any ready to roll as soon as your brk is over and not a minute later.

The bottom line for this whole thread is the fact that a driver told his company that " I'm falling asleep while driving because I've been up all day and I don't want to hurt anybody" and the dispatchers for this company are saying "walk around the truck a few times, get some coffee, and if you don't go it will be a service failure which will result in probably your dismissal with the company." The rest of the story doesn't matter. There are MANY companies that operate this way. I completely understand that people need to work and a driver needs a company to drive for but we as drivers need to say NO.
Drive tired or be fired. Nice safety policy!Sly Fox, truckerdave1970, drvrtech77 and 4 others Thank this. -
