    I have been driving for my cousin with FedEx cc for the past seven months, and seeing the money that comes in I decided to get my own truck. Looking for a mentor.

    why doesn't your cousin help you run your business? Most ppl wont feel comfortable giving out advise on how to be successful. I give advice to people I know but not any stranger over the web have any specific questions?

    He tries to talk me out of it. He knows I'm a good driver, and a hard worker, so he doesn't want me to leave.

    I'm a Welder by trade (12 years), the most I've ever made welding was 38k. So I Decided to try truck Driving, don't really like being away from home a lot, but I can deal with that.

    I just need to know what all I have to get besides the truck, and insurance? What would be the start up cost? Just basic things that would help a first time o/o.

    I've been with him for seven months, and so far he replaced one tire, got a phew oil changes, and fixed a hole in the box.

    Its all fun and games til somebody burns uo an engine...
    Major repairs can happen anytime. I spent $15,000 since September, thats truckin. You can never expect things to go perfect. You may have a lucky streak for a while, but it will happen.
