I respect your point of view. But for me, there's no way I'm going without knowing for sure if they'll pay my way back or not. I don't feel comfortable asking for help/money from friends/relatives because to be honest, I've been doing that already these past few weeks.

I'll probably just ask in a subtle way like somebody suggested here, such as saying something like if a family emergency arises while in orientation or at the hotel, will you pay my way back. Something along those lines.

Son, if you thank driving a truck is a sure thing, your grasping at straws. I don't claim to know it all, but I know some. MY attitude is, Give me the worst rig you have & I will make $$$ for You & I. If I can we might talk about a better one. No company I know has ever turned that offer down. What makes it work? Just look in a mirror. Never take un wise chances. Never turn down a challenge. Or do something else. Big Dogs like Don think you can do it. Me too. Prove us wrong. Well I contacted Super Service and it turns out they do NOT pay for your trip home. While I was debating if I was still going to go, Werner called me and approved my application and sat me up with an orientation this Friday in Allentown PA. So I'm going to go with Werner. Not only are they closer so I can drive my personal vehicle to orientation but they also have better pay than SS.

Good luck. Werner doesn't have a very good reputation, but maybe it will meet your needs.

The world is full of us that can't. There is a few of us to stubborn to believe that. Henry Ford said, " I think I can, or I know I can't". Both ways your right.

To be fair, is there any of the " starter companies " that do have a good rep? Swift, US Xpress, CR England, Werner, CRST, Covenant all have their share of bad rep. I'm not expecting much from my first company, I plan on getting a year or so of experience under my belt and moving on to a better company. I have my sights set on TMC at the moment.

    Big Don Thanks this.

Thanks. I'm absolutely positive I'll be heading to Werner. If I don't forget I'll post on here how things went Friday evening after my first day.
