Just applied with Werner for their dedicated Dollar
general account. Can anyone tell me more about this? is it drop and hook? Pay good? weekends off just for reset? Any info would be appreciated, I'm waiting for the recruiter to call me back now, but in the mean time I'd love to get some insight from other drivers.

run as fast as you can unless you can live on 300-400 a week
pattyj and DriverToBroker Thank this. -
Most of them have no dock.

Well they have an 850 a week guarantee on one of their accounts. Often times you'll make more than that but on slow weeks at least you can count on that. Of course I am new at this and I knew how recruiters are. Maybe there's something I'm missing? I don't know

I've broken my ankle unloading there trailer, lots of ppl get hurt doing DG and FD.

I was guaranteed 1,200 a week for the dollar tree account out of Connecticut. Good luck. I would rather smash my face in with a hammer then ever work for Werner again!
Get it in writing from your recruiter see what she says I bet they won't lmaoChinatown Thanks this. -
There are some threads elsewhere dealing with the DG and similar dedicated. I'd hate to see someone with minimal driving experience go straight into that work. You will either become a dang good driver in 3 weeks (backing and navigating tight quarters) or you will be fired for too many damage incidents as you try and master your skills. A lot of work. Pay may be good depending on your point of reference and your expectation level.

That's what I was kind of afraid of after I thought about it a lil bit, but I really don't have a choice because I have not driven in 5 yrs. My choices are pretty much Swift or Werner unless I wanna go through school all over again which doesn't appeal to me at all. I figure I'm gonna have to start at one of the "bottom feeders" for 6 months to a year and then go anywhere I want from there.

Family dollar and DG,you go to the stores you unload the trl. Many of the stores are small which you had to have seen. Many are very hard backing.Sometimes you'll have to back from a busy street at an angle with ditches on both sides then other times youll have to back from a narrow street. If that's what you'll be doing, make sure you go out with a trainer who only does those accounts, not an otr trainer.
