The Ugly Truth about Roehls cpap testing.

It's my understanding that Roehl actually pays a large portion of the cost of the machine. Not sure how they are making money on the study if they're eating a big portion of the machine cost. Am I missing something?

 

Didn't say Roehl, said the sleep companies. They run the test and sell the machine. So the more positives they say, the more machines they sell. And, no, Roehl doesn't pay anything for machine, they pay for the test. They will purchase machine for you, then deduct a weekly amount for repayment.

 

My last student said Roehl paid for a big portion of the machine. Can't remember how much. I get what you're saying now about the company performing the study. Didn't realize the same company that performs the study sells the machines.

 

Didn't pay anything for mine. Around a year of $30 a week out of my check.

 

You're assuming I was pointing my comment at a specific person, I was not! I am commenting on the thread. If you do not experience sleep apnea then why would you need the CPAP. If you are tested and have apnea episodes during your test then odds are you need it. If you are deemed to have experienced sleep apnea in one test and opt for a second test and do not experience any episodes then by all means contest the decision.

 

See above comments about money grabbing by the testers/machine suppliers.

 

Well my fiancé found out what happens when you have to have the machine then leave the company before the 10 months is up... it is all taken out of the final check. So, he didn't have a final check. Nothing like struggling and not being able to pay rent.

 

The machine purchase would not be so bad if you could purchase it at a place where the insurance would cover it. If an employee is suspected of having sleep apnea, they should be referred by a doctor to a sleep disorder clinic that can make a proper diagnosis, and prescribe proper treatment of any disorder found. All of which should be covered under the health insurance plan. IMHO

 

That makes sense since they probably assume you're not going to keep paying them once you're not getting paid by them.

 

Yeah, they say they are paying a portion, but I sincerely doubt it! I am paying the same as Bayle. I check on the exact model I have and it was a couple hundred less than I am paying Roehl, What a Scam!

I seem to be developing some serious trust issues with Roehl as of late
