Visit some DG stores in your area and look at the area you must back into. I worked for a reefer company and sometimes we picked up a few loads Werner or whoever had the account couldn't cover and it wasn't worth it. Those accounts are for rookies that don't know any better. I'd rather work for Western Express or Paschall Truck Lines; they both hire with a long gap in driving. Swift or Schneider would be much better than a DG account. I'd rather go thru school again. SRT has a school and furnishes a hotel room and 3 meals a day. Millis Transfer would be an excellent choice.

Can I request a trainer that runs that account? Cause my recruiter told me today my trainer could an otr trainer just depending on what they had available. I would like to have a trainer that could show all of those tricks of how to do it.

Ask yourself why they always need drivers for these accounts and then you will see what to expect, tight space, cars in the parking lot, no dock, u unload the trailer no matter how cold it is outside for 75$ a trailer. God luck with that and cpm is around 0.35 to 0.44

I would like to think so.Bring that up during orientation and sound concerned.OTR you spend more time driving then backing. With those accounts you do awhole lot of challenging backing.

    Thank you !

I think there should be a reality show based on these new drivers who sign up to do these Dollar accounts. It would be quite entertaining. Hard places to back into, boxes thrown everywhere, impatient 4-wheelers, hours spent checking items in and the list goes on.

We can call it 'Dollars & Dreams'

    pattyj Thanks this.

I forgot to add something concerning these Werner accounts, many drivers have received preventables on their dac reports due to the backing.I know a guy who has 3.He didn't get the right amount of training and very little backing practice so keep that in mind.
