Ok. Time to vent. I have no problem with this new system. It all works so smoothly. IF THESE OTHER #### DRIVERS WILL DO THEIR E AND L CALLS RIGHT!! It's not rocket science!! I have yet to have a single L or E call go thru in the past couple of days. I get the stupid invalid trailer location error. I call in and get the same explanation every time. The other driver didn't do their L call or E call correctly. So the trailer never showed up at the location in the computer. Uh. Ok? How is that my problem?! And the best part is then they want the #### last 6 of the vin and the plate number. I DONT CARE!! It shouldn't be so hard to hook to a #### trailer!! I really could care less what your computer says. I'm not here to play with the computer. As long as the trailer is actually hooked to me physically. The rest is not my issue. I'm going to do my loads either way. But for now. I shall follow their dumb ### instructions and give them the vin and plate. Pretty soon I'm going to lose my #### patience. When you're local and deal with multiple trailers. I don't have time to be vin and plate hunting. Damnt drivers. LEARN TO DO MACROS!! Or swift. TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO DO MACROS!! MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM!!

    vent over.

I ran into something like this yesterday... I showed up with an empty to about 2 hours earlier to my appointment time. Started my macro's with an arrival, the weekend DM messaged me said "YOUR LOAD HAS ALREADY BEEN E or T CALLED"(they love typing in caps for some reason). So I sent a message back saying, in so many words, that they were preparing to load my trailer so something is wrong on your end. He ended up removing me from the load re-adding it and told me he fixed everything. Well I went to send in my loaded call, the computer spits some error message back I had never seen before, so I sent the dm another message, he calls me back says he'll fix it again, I tell him I have to get on the road or be late, he assures me he's taken care of it all. Well this morning I got a message from my DM stating that he just "MANUALLY L CALLED MY LOAD" I took this message as he was pissed about it, because why bother telling me? He probably knows nothing of the trouble I had encountered with the system yesterday or the promises from the weekender dispatch that he would fix it. I don't care much, bottom line is I'm on time and will deliver the load safely. BTW Is anyone else enjoying the east coast? I'm having a blast! Seriously I hope they never route me out of here!!!!!!!! (I believe the dm's read these forums and I'm hoping they do in fact get me out of the cold soon)

Allow me to add to your vent while we are at it.
This is is why Centrals macros were so much better. Intuitive. Most macros REQUIRED the trip#, truck# and trailer#. Would not allow you to send the macro without the required info to keep their computers up to date. Swift allows you to do it wrong without any way to know its wrong, then to send it wrong, resulting in an error message coming back at ya. Try to resend with better info and then it says that the load has already been ** called. Now you don't know if it updated or not. Stupid system!! I just tell the qcomm to **** itself and get rolling. I know where I am, where I'm going and when I need to be there. If there dumbs system can't keep up, that's their problem. When it stops accepting anything, then send lengthy message with load numbers, trailer numbers and locations with each. Then go to bed and let them figure it out and update everything. If they want to keep your truck rolling, it will get done. If not, then you know exactly where you stand with your dm.
are you listening Swift? You threw out a system better than your own just cuz it wasn't yours or doesn't work quite right with your other retarded computer systems. Dumb #####*s snot nosed kids who think they are smarter than any dumb'ol truck drivers.
    vent II over.

So everyone got that notice? I was wondering, because I went to Seattle twice, and there's 2 hills that I come down, and if I don't watch the truck, I find I'm going 67 briefly. Since my engine brake doesn't kick until 66, I'm already in their overspeed range by the time I notice it. I thought it was me. I couldn't find an overspeed policy, just the speed policy revision. I hope that's what they need.

I asked a Swift driver about the idle , and he told me 15 degrees or lower you can idle. Beyond that you're not to idle. I don't know how accurate it is, that might be a question for the Central Triage thread.

It's also not just drivers, but the computer work getting screwed up or neglected (big surprise). I had a load tonight to deliver. I went to the yard, sent a macro 1, it spit the "don't back into things" warning, and then told me that I couldn't arrive because I'd already ecalled my previous load. I wanted to get to where I was going on time, so I hooked, pretripped, sent a macro 2. It freaked out at me. I went to my deliver (4 miles away), sent my macro 5. It freaked. At this point I figured I'd just keep sending the proper macros, even if the computer wasn't taking them, so someone could eventually sort it all out. I get unloaded, I go back to my yard, and drop my trailer. Then I call my favorite night guy, and ask him what's going on. Turns out something went wrong with the computer work when the previous driver dropped the load. He didn't specify if it was driver or office error, but he fixed it all for me.

Yeah, thats what it has come to for me. Do what I can, when I get an error, call someone to fix it. I havent been calling central lately because I know they were still learning, so it was taking them awhile to answer the phone, so I was calling swift in phoenix. Well today I called swift about my invalid trailer location message. She says, I need your vin and plate. I said, maam, I am driving, and I am not pulling over on the side of the road for something that is not my problem, and I am not going to stop driving until I reach my 90. She freaked out and was like, I cant talk to you while youre driving!! I said, uh, I am on a bluetooth headset, everything is legal, no worries. She said, call back when you are pulled over to a safe spot. I couldnt help but to just laugh and hang up. So then I call central, they actually answer within 15 mins. He says, the whole reason they do the vin and plate thing, is to make sure the driver is actually hooked to the trl. But he looked it up in their computer for me, so I didnt have to. Guess atleast central DMs still trust us, for now....

  8. In the revised o/o agreement that you had to sign, it states we will get our "Central" raises as we should. The only problem with the wording on the takeover revised contracts is there is a sentence thrown in that states we will at some point in future have to sign a new lease with Swift. To me that's the catch.

The QC knows what truck you are when ever you send anything, outing in the Macro would be redundant. Same with your trip the system knows what trip is assigned to your truck. That's why you don't need a customer code when you send for directions. The system know where you are going and will automatically send the directions.

3 issues cause trailer screw up. Previous user/load wasn't properly e-called. Trailer is off the grid and not communicating. The systems location for the trailer doesn't match with where you are.

I suspect the trailer issues are a combination of everyone catching onto the macros and the trailers haven't been fully integrated into the system.

Once the macro errors, the only thing to do is have a DM fix it. Try to get it fixed on the first macro that errors, otherwise it just cascades on down.
