Is there a law that will protect myself from being fired for refusing to run into NYC? I am being pushed into this, and I feel that its unsafe for me and my cdl. Driving with the same company for 11 years, servicing local farms. Now understaffed I'm forced to go into the city after expressing I feel unsafe!

I delivered in NYC many times.Do not depend on your GPS.You call the customer and get directions and write them down.Study the map.See if your company will reimburse you if you get A NYC atlas.I have one and believe me it helps. When leaving the customer get directions back to the interstate. You'll be fine.

Sorry Dude, but pull your pants up and do it. After your first time, it's kind of a fun challenge.

If at all possible do the obvious, plan your trip to circumvent the rush hours, there is always traffic, but if you hit it right it's really not that big of a deal.
Find out if you can park at your customers place, if so, go in later at night or EARLY in the morning, and like the others said map out your route, AND, use google maps or something similar, if you can see the area you are going into and know what to expect it will make your day a lot less stressful.fortycalglock Thanks this. -
