They care because of liability or the lack their of put on themselves and their insurance companies. If something happens that they know about and did nothing to prevent it or take into consideration that it existed, then they're liable and can't just shrug their shoulders. It's the reason for every company these days wanting to know more and more about its employees. We did this to ourselves allowing such a litigious society.
Sent home by Prime , bit concerned.

WARNING: SUICIDAL THOUGHTS AND BEHAVIORSAntidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior in children, adolescents, and young adults in short-term studies. These studies did not show an increase in the risk of suicidal thoughts and behavior with antidepressant use in patients over age 24; there was a reduction in risk with antidepressant use in patients aged 65 and older [see Warnings and Precautions (5.1)].
In patients of all ages who are started on antidepressant therapy, monitor closely for worsening, and for emergence of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Advise families and caregivers of the need for close observation and communication with the prescriber [see Warnings and Precautions (5.1)]. -
Cymbalta is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD). The efficacy of Cymbalta was established in four short-term and one maintenance trial in adults [see Clinical Studies (14.1)].
A major depressive episode (DSM-IV) implies a prominent and relatively persistent (nearly every day for at least 2 weeks) depressed or dysphoric mood that usually interferes with daily functioning, and includes at least 5 of the following 9 symptoms: depressed mood, loss of interest in usual activities, significant change in weight and/or appetite, insomnia or hypersomnia, psychomotor agitation or retardation, increased fatigue, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, slowed thinking or impaired concentration, or a suicide attempt or suicidal ideation.
Unless he is getting off those meds. He won't get hired by anybody. -

tall okie, Cymbalta isn't going to show up in a drug screen, if you have never had an alcohol related infraction, perhaps you should just keep it to yourself.

Lying to a company or to the DOT doctor will only put you in a worse spot. The company is probably looking at it the way their insurance company is. You're on prescription medication for a depressive disorder, it has side effects ranging from severe allergic reactions to drowsiness. And it can be a pretty big liability for a company and it's insurance company. And I don't intend to discourage you, keep calling and sending e-mails. I'm sure you can find a company to take you on.
