I like Waffle house too, they have delicious cheese burgers.I stated at a hotel and waffle house was the only place around there to eat so I tried it and went back later that night for seconds. There are waffle houses that do have trk parking.

its Swift central these days, only if your a o/o can you drive off duty

there are some ways around it, if you can drive quickly to where your trying to go in under 5 minutes then you can hurry and switch it back to off duty and it wont store that drive time, have seen drivers log out of the system too then back in once back and parked but I dont know how much trouble you can get into if caught doing it and I dont recommend the 2nd suggestion but the first one I have used enough times.

If you drop a trailer the tractor is not laden anymore. But a good driver never leaves his load nor would the company be happy about it. Trailers are stolen everyday. Leave the personal conveyance to go eat or Walmart for when you are empty. While under load make do with where you shutdown. Like other's said there are plenty of Awful Houses with truck parking.

That is a pretty pessimistic dismal way to look at it... before becoming a truck driver I had other jobs.. and maybe there was a restaurant I wanted to eat at for lunch but couldnt cause I cojldnt get there, eat and back on tkme for when my break was up...

Everyone has choices.. he can decide that being able to eat at a waffle house whenever he wants is important to nim.. and get a job at tne waffle house or nearby so he can eat there whenever he wants...

Also, there are other ways then just dropping your trailer and bo tailing.. 5 miles is not far to walk, I have walked 7 miles to a walmart and walked back with groceries, there is also the option of calling a cab.. again, one needs to decide how important eating at the waffle house is to tnem.. important enough to walk or call a cab.. and I suppose he can also cnoose to be a victim and whine that it is unfair that he can't eat where he wants when he wants...

Sometimes I'll take a walk for 45 mins to an hour to get somewhere. But that's just me, I enjoy the exercise when I have the time. I know that walking is not really an option for many drivers.

I don't mind walking either. I know not to leave my load, I would only do it when empty.

That's the first time I've heard Waffle House referred to as a "treat". I tend to think quite the opposite of them. Waffle House (and Huddle House, especially) to me is the food you'd eat out of desperation... after you've run out of people to cannibalize in order to survive.

Truck stops sell glad hand locks you put on the red line to prevent others from taking the trailer.Ive always got reimbursed.Even if trl is empty and unattended you still should should use caution.
