If you feel the need to trash somebody or something for whatever reason, that is your prerogative. But PLEASE get your facts straight before doing so.
1. The brand new trucks are not 140K. They are 149K
2. The interest rate is not 15%. It is 12.5%
3. Chargebacks???? There are no chargebacks. If you get it, you pay for it.
4. Hidden numbers???? There are no hidden numbers. Everybody knows BEFORE they sign their contract what the costs are for everything.
5. 180? I'm going to assume you are referring to the flat weekly payment. If so, its $120.00
6. Insurance? Of course we pay insurance. Don't you pay insurance on your car, house, life, etc.? JCT gets a group rate which makes the insurance cheaper than an individual policy.
7. Full price on diesel? We do get a discount at 3 of the major truck stop companies in the country. Granted, its not a great discount, but again, making a correction on an incorrect statement.
8. 18cpm? Yes and no. The amount depends on the type of truck you have. It may range from 18-24 cpm.
9. Recruiting? As I said before.....NOPE. Not my thing. Reason? Dealing with people like you that cannot see anything beyond the scope of your own tunnel vision.
Please do not take that as an insult, but based on your previous post, you have NOTHING positive to say. All you seem to do is slam, slam, slam. Look, if you don't like leasing or JCT or whatever, that's your thing, but there is absolutely no reason to be rude about it and post inaccuracies about something that you are not familiar with. Heresay doesn't make you an expert on a topic, but a gossip spreader. So if you don't know, ASK! There is no shame in that.

Now i was there back in the day but i was giving them the benefit of the dought on certain numberz. When i was there it was 110k and 15% ......the fixed cost before all was said and done was around 900 a week so yes i assumed it would cone in around 1200........as far as leasing i,m not totally opposed but this program has far too much downside risk and very little upside possiblility and the comment about new being safer i find innacurate at it,s core even if its under warruntee that warrantee don,t keep you out of the hole if you are in the shop frequently...,,
Now as far as fixed costs
120 fixed payment
720 variable assuming 3000 miles a week
372 physical damage 3% at 149 k
We are at 1200 before bobtail occ acc qc and whatever else jct charges for their freight
So how am i that far off on 1200 a week fixed costs ....and that reefer fuel aint free if they are not passing on their fuel discount in my opinion ......i expected john to raise his rates after they put in elogs and/or the trucks got more expensive kind of a double shot ..
Instead he lowered the experience level for new hires
As far as your opinion on new versus used i have one truck i bought for 8 k five years ago avg maint costs over five years is 12 cpm bought/ leased second one for 58k will take a lot of engine overhauls to just reach the 100k plus interest to make new a better deal i just find these shiney new lp deals set up for failure and highly dangerous without at least the opportunity to benefit from rising rates -

Your missing it if he gets 30 cpg off on the fuel and dosent pass it thru in addition to the reefer fsc that all major and most minor carriers get.....you are paying for it .....it is a shell game...
Even when i leased to a carrier under 100 trucks i got a reefer fsc and 20 to 50 cents off cash price with efs at pfj and some t/a s .....i think they make it simple so people don,t do the math....with my carrier pulling similar freight and them paying reefer i average 1.60 all miles thats 30 cpm ahead no way in hades ifta plates tolls scake tickets equal 36 k a year plus my avg fuel discount i 30 cpm kudos to john that he can keep those trucks full but in the long term i don,t think it,s a good deal......now if he payed a percentage and passed thru the fuel discount he.s getting ..... -

Thanks for some positive input from the other side of the fence, for myself it may not be what's right but I believe you're right about alot of the gripes, many might have left union jobs and are only just now finding what the real life is like, where the only thing covering your butt is your pants,so ya better keep it outa trouble. I ran my own roofing business for thirty years, that may be why I personally am leaning towards a company position, let someone else absorb all the variables in operating costs for awhile-Thanks again-GOD bless!
Dinomite, Stile, Milkman719 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Btw earlier when you kept bringing up the 1200 number, you included variable costs in it and claim it as fixed cost. Fixed cost doesn't change based on how many miles you do. Currently the fixed costs would amount to about 300 a week. The variable would be your miles times. 18 cents plus 9 cent maintenence plus fuel. -
