Made it the last two hours to my drop and hook at WM. Plenty of empties too! Took my 30 and then started my deadhead over to Louisiana to pick up my loaded trailer going to Phoenix. Got about an hour to go in the morning to the pick up. Traffic horrible on a Friday afternoon. Much easier tmrw morning. Then it's 1420 miles in three days to Phoenix. Then home for the first time in five weeks.

Stuck here at Georgia Pacific North of Baton Rouge for over two hours now on a '30 min' drop and hook. Took two hours to go through trailer inspection and actually drop and hook my trailers. Now I get up to the scale house to leave and the computer system has gone down! So no BOLs. Unreal. About twenty trucks in line behind me. Of course they have no idea when the computer will be fixed.

Avoid paper mills like the plague.

Thats for sure. As a chip truck driver I've been into a few. Longview, Wa. a nightmare. Toledo, Or. A mess with the scale being shared with impatient chip trucks weighing and dumping right next to it, and a mudhole of a yard to drive through to unload. Not to mention speed traps all the way there and if you come out and decide to go down highway 20 the wrong way you are over length, and they are looking for you. Swift's routing systems kept sending their drivers on a "Shortcut" down a back road to the coast from Salem. 2 trucks in a row stuck under a railroad overpass in a month, lol. All to get a super heavy load of GP paper. Yuk.

Finally got out of the paper mill and drove 480 miles to San Antonio. Loooooong day. Already put a note on my spreadsheet next to the paper mill to never go there again. If I'd only known what customer if was before I booked the load! Of course, it is getting me to the house, so not all bad. And only 24k of computer paper headed to Amazon.com.
