Long Island is just east of NYC. It's like an extension of the city. And the LIE (495) can be worse than anything with the traffic!!!

Long Island isn't the city, and those of us born there would just as soon cut a canal at the Nassau county line (right around Amityville) and let everything west of that float away. Take your damnable pseudo Italian "Lawn Guyland" Queens trash accents and everything.
But, it's highly amusing this driver thought he got out of going to the city. I bet he will enjoy 95, to 295, to 495 and back. -
You ain't got to tell me where long islands at I know. I just don't get how going to the island is that much different than the Boros. Same amount of traffic. And can be just as tight in some spots.
