Kinda makes my first sentence in my response look out of place. In short it was the fear that many have that Obama will find a way to force everyone to buy a new truck. I got into trucking in the first place because the trucks will always have to run. The day may come that drivers won't be driving, but the trucks will still run.

Every point I made was pertinent to this discussion. Government intervention is a huge factor in deciding which truck to buy! Obviously someone's political prejudice resulted in censorship! Perhaps the censor could explain what it was about my post that was off topic or untrue?

Since I don't run in California, government has little to do with my decisions on what truck to buy. Even with the new hours of service, we figured out how to make them work for us, or how to work around them and kept the trucks running. If you listen to what Obama has said the regulations will apply to new trucks, not the ones already on the road. We've been down this path many times before with the idea that eventually all the old stuff will wear out. We went from leaded to unleaded fuel, we went from regular diesel to low sulfur to ultra low sulfur. My point is that business always finds a way to stay in business. I don't care what the excuse, you either let others tell you you can't, or you follow your instincts and wits to move forward.

Lincoln was constantly frustrated with his generals because they always had some excuse for not fighting and prosecuting the war. Finally through process of elimination he put Grant in charge. Grant engaged the enemy. He was called a drunk, a butcher and worse, but to each charge Lincoln had one reply-"But he fights." Sometimes you just have to go forward and not worry about what everyone else is doing.

I have signed and faxed back the promissory note for the balloon payment on the truck. In no more than 25 weeks I will own the truck free and clear. If I understand correctly I will actually own the truck in 21 weeks. I have four weeks of payments held back as a security deposit. According to Lori in payroll when I get to the last four payments they are supposed to use the deposit.

Correct. 4 payments held in escrow. Been waiting for 2 weeks for an appraisal on my truck. They keep me waiting much longer and I might talk myself out of it..lol

When all done bring that truck over to the Choice program on Schneider, been on it now 4 years since I left Roehl and I have no regrets. You are in a awesome freight area to make good money and have alot of hometime.

Be honest. You've been with both companies. Which lease program is better?
