Thanks everybody, lots of great input and things to consider. I did have to check the URL just to make sure I was on TTR, the lack of bea-aching had me wondering if this was the Dr Phil truck site.
It's nice to know people still take pride in what they do and take responsibility for their actions and not blame others for the little bumps along the way.
The way things are going maybe I am headed to becoming a Pumpkin Pusher rather than a Werner Weener.
Can they hook me up with some discounted Packer's tickets? Will they let me enjoy a brat and a brew?
A thirsty Little Eddy.
Talk to me about why...

there's a few cranky pumpkin drivers but for the most part we're all pretty laid back but honest here

I'm a rookie with Big Orange, and have to say I'm pretty happy so far.
They gave me a 2012 Cascadia; had some injector issues right away. (like, 120 miles into my first load right away) Called Schneider Emergency Maintenance, they made sure I felt safe driving it to the closest Freightliner dealership and authorized the repairs necessary. I'm not sure where the breakdown was - I've heard it was Detroit Diesel, but can't verify - but they only replaced 2 injectors. After 3 days, I picked up my truck. Next morning, less than 15 miles from the shop, I lost 2 more injectors. Took it right back to the dealership, they got authorization from 'Detroit' to replace the remaining 4. Through it all, I was in contact with my DBL (driver business leader); my hotel was taken care of, and I did receive breakdown pay for the five days I was stuck.
The thread that was recommended to you earlier - by dieselfuelonly - is a big part of why I opted for Schneider. Not the only reason, but it was nice to have an actual driver's opinion, not just what the recruiter said. Other reasons included my cousin's (O/O with Swift at the time) opinion that Big Orange was probably the best new driver company, and the speed at which I could be out on my own, theoretically making money
Good luck in whatever you choose!!Hunter_alexander, knuckledragger and Little Eddy Thank this. -
About the only way to get discounted Packet tickets is to marry the ugly daughter of a season ticket holder.Little Eddy and mickimause Thank this. -

Yes I am finding DFO's thread very helpful and influential. Things will be decided in an matter of days; I can tell you that Packer's tickets would really tilt the decision in favor of Orange in a heart beat...lol.
Thanks for the post.

I made donuts in the Navy, if I go that route now I only go danish, fine danish, really high quality danish; I am a snob that way.
I was told that during Werner training you are not allowed to have any adult beverages. So if I am in a motel/hotel watching a ball game I am not allowed to enjoy the company of a frosty friend.
Little Eddy91B20H8 Thanks this. -

DFO tells in his wonderful thread about having to do his first run with no guidance on trip planning...can you offer some insight as to how best utilized the limited opportunities 3 weeks allows?
