You will see all kinds of odd times when dealing with Tyson. The same is true with Wal Mart deliveries. Just make sure you're not late on any of them.

I have plenty experience with Wal-Mart. Some will left you show up 3 hrs early and others an hour early. Some go by the time you check in with the gate and others by the time you get to the recieving clerk. And if you are late, it is true end of the world. God forbid you have reschedule.

Being the fuel economy minded driver that I am, I've been experimenting with this diesel guzzling beast.

I ran three different ways across I-10 and back, comparing fuel economy each time. Seems there are two ways I can drive this truck to get decent fuel economy.

    1. Lock cruise control on at 1100 rpm for ~8.5 mpg (roughly 53-55 in this truck, other Evos can get 61'ish).
    2. Max driving speed (up to legal limit of course) without ever touching cruise control for ~7.8 mpg.

For some odd reason, using cruise control at max speed only gives me around 6.6-6.8 mpg, and that just won't do for me.

Of course, this is not a scientific study , and YMMV... but it's a couple things to try out if you're not happy w/ your fuel economy.

I bet you're not running 1450 rpm at 67, either.

    I do. :(

I seem to get the best mpg wind or not at 58 mph, in tenth gear with rpms at 1200. This only after a week of testing. I'm going to get a scan gauge shipped to the house and hopefully I can swing by and pick it up soon.

I'm still thinking I am going to try and get one of those fancy dancy evos in 90 days as I feel consistently getting 7 mpg in this kdub is going to be a chore.

Better yet I may have this truck completely figured out by then and you'd have to pry the keys from my fingers. It sure is a good looking truck. I'll give it that.
