After some pleasant and some not phone calls last week trying to get home for daughters surgery which I did, spent all morning calling and either got hung up on or voice mail and know she is there cause went through every person I had number for. Got the well you only have 3 days and we will deduct when u come back out since I wanted to stay til at least out icu so have a feeling I'll get home to a message in truck saying bring it to yard since no one wants to answer me or respond.

You can always get another job. Your daughter getting well trumps EVERYTHING. Period. I pray she has a speedy recovery.

Hey man, your family has to come first! Yeah, I know, that means you need a job to support them, but as Puppage said, you can always get another job. Sounds like this is not a company that I would ever work for.
I think at this point, the most important question is, "How is your daughter?" And yes, I believe we all would really like to know!blairandgretchen and Y2K Thank this. -
For a 6 month old having second open heart surgery she is a champ and I was debating turning truck in anyway cause need to be around to help. There's plenty of jobs and I'd drive to Atlanta everyday if need be
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
I love hearing stories like this. Means plenty of opportunity for someone like me, who will eventually have other quality drivers such as yourself drive for me, you need home time? TAKE IT. Tell me when you are ready to return. I know I am kinda far out from there and being in Canada, I can't really help you, but there has got to be someone else with the same mindset I have that you can work for and not have to worry about crap like this. You are not a dog, do not let yourself be treated as one. They need you to drive more than you need their truck to drive. Don't ever forget it.

I had to come off the road because my wife got ill, she had a small stroke from high blood pressure and while in the hospital we found out she had breast cancer. had to call JCT and ask if they'd work with me to get the truck back to them. they were great! they could have done a recovery and charged me by the mile but seeing the circumstances they got a local couple that team to return the truck to the terminal.
life threatening illness resets your life's priorities.... -
