Look our company has a policy and we have to follow it. Your company obviously doesn't. Remember this as your driving down the road next time while on the phone. If you are involved in an accident, the police will ask for your phone records. It will not be a good out look for you when that happens. Quite possibly your company might turn around and terminate you for such a thing if the accident is that bad and ruled preventable. How's your companies CSA score and safety record?

I guess you hate your family since you don't talk to them.
I guess you don't listen to the radio as that could be distracting.
I guess you don't drink or eat while driving.
I guess you don't ever look at the clock as it is distracting.[/QUOTE]
Coming this year...distracted driving policies for CB's..........yiiippppgrabberblue12 Thanks this. -
i just thought id weigh in on this myself. here at wal-mart you can talk to your family all you want when you are parked. just cut it back to 6 ten minute calls during your 11, if something is important enough you need longer all you have to do is pull over. i would like to know though, what regular job would let you talk on the phone for even 60 minutes while on duty?
grabberblue12 and Pocket change Thank this. -

Thanks for the validation Chewey! Im still on here once in a while but hauling crude oil takes up most of my waking hours. I am moving on from crude oil hauling! I got a job with Pilot/Flying J logistics hauling diesel fuel to frac sites. Better pay, by the hour and not % of load, and awesome benefits. There is life after Wal mart but it sure is a life changer. I still talk to my Wal Mart buddies and it sounds like a lot has changed there in the last year. They are now making every driver get their neck measured and if it is more than 17 inches they are put on a sleep apnea machine! Mandatory! Cant believe what Wal Mart is doing lately? Be safe out there! Blessings, Gizmo

gizmo57, I don't know of any Walmart driver that had to get their neck measured or forcing you onto a sleep apnea machine. I had my physical in Dec and nobody measured my neck or even asked me questions about my sleep habits during the physical. If you want to volunteer to take a sleep apnea test you can, and Walmart will pay for the test and machine if needed. I have heard this rumor among fellow Walmart drivers and it is always a driver from a different DC that claims this is going on, which is the first clue that it is not true, and when you check it with a driver from that DC they have no clue what you talking about.

The DOT is instructing examiners to do a neck measurement if a driver fits the criteria and could possibly be affected by sleep apnea. We all know that apnea is more common in large individuals which has made them targets. This will soon be an issue for every driver and is not a Walmart only issue.
Bentonville has other more important things they are working on that will strictly limit the privacy of all of us. And we will conform and be thankful because after all its the best job in the world. Talk to some of the drivers on the top row of your DC's board and they will set you straight.
