After a year of doing alot of reading research and asking on this forum i made my choice on a trucking company that i like . now my question to anyone is telling my parent that im ready to return back to work ? I know this question may sound childish but its not! Its just that i need a solid future / solid career choice . henceforth why i chose becoming a trucker so that i can be able to stand on my own feet and make it in this world.
Any advice / input from u fine guy truckers and girls truckers will be helpful to me.

    Thank u.

lol, just tell the truth and be proud.

my dad quit asking me ,"when are you going to get a real job", about 10 yrs ago.

    he's a 35 yr retired IBM'er.

I came from mid management ,with a college to trucking to help a friend deliver stuff in a straight truck.

    never looked back! lol

That depends on what company you have decided to work for. If you are going to work for CR England or Swift, I would tell them that you got arrested for molesting a kid and are going to prison. That way they would be able to tell their friends where you are at least and still have a little pride.

@ wooly rhino : not those deadbeats companies !!!!! Not on my life , i can't stand nor digest them two . they make me sick to my stomach .. I chose a company that most ppls on this forum doesn't talk about much . I chose them because of this factor ...

Yes it does! Are you getting married to the truck or just driving it? Good Gracious, you are making something out of nothing...Wait a minute...If that is the case, then you will make a perfect truck driver!!!

You could tell them like the old veterans say "it was either drive a truck for (insert bottom feeder company name here) or go to prison."

By the way every time an old veteran tells me that about the service I roll my eyes.

There is absolutely nothing in the world to be ashamed of as far as being a truck driver is concerned. Driving a truck is perfectly honest decent work. Without the truck drivers, the economy would come to a grinding halt.

The only thing that a person should be ashamed to tell his or her parents is that they did something illegal, immoral, or outright horrible to another person or to a group of people.

Looking at this situation, that you are asking the forum readers for advice, it almost made me wish that I had this problem.

Both of my parents are both SADLY and UNFORTUNATELY deceased:
    1) mother, (5/31/1921 - 9/30/2007), age 86
    2) father, (8/30/1921 - 7/2/1981), age 59

Had both of my parents still been here, they would have been 93 years old this year.

Do NOT be afraid or ashamed!

Go for it and good luck to you!

I remember having this big ol speech lined up when I told my family and friends what the next journey for me was going to be. Never once used it. Everyone thought it was perfect for me. Turns out it was. So don't over think it...

My old truck is named "MAMA CRIED" for a reason. The first time she seen me pulling a loaded cattle pott she did. I had chosen to chase a little boy's dream and say screw the money. Years later she told me it was out of pride not disappointment, gave me this piece of advice If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life. I haven't worked in a long time.
