Hazmat/tanker OTR. Most hazmat/tanker drivers make $55K - $65K per year and some much more. Some drivers I worked with made $72K every year OTR. My average was between $60K - $65K because I took a month off every year to goof off in the Orient.

Some drivers, in order to save more for retirement, sold their vacation time back to the company. They might take 3 or 4 days vacation and sell the rest.

Perhaps it would be better to be more concerned about decent pay in CONJUNCTION with decent miles, consistent loads, home time, POSSIBLY getting decent layover pay for being held up at shipping plants for extended periods of time, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, potential long range job security with the company that you drive for.

    Good luck to you.

I hear getting your "Lot Lizard" endorsement usually gets you a well paying job...

Shouldnt be only asking who pays the best, should be asking who gives you the best opportunity to make the most money.

This includes limited layovers, good miles, & decent pay... Smaller Regional outfits usually offer these qualities. No need stay on the road 2-3 weeks at a time where you can earn the same amount of money by working good through the week & being home on weekends

That's a good way to put it.
    What's the answer though?
I can't seem to get any answers anywhere.
I guess most happy drivers with the good jobs don't want others to know about it.
