when on paper logs it's not to hard to push one around, dispatchers say to one you are just burning up your logs so you don't have to take the next load. (Been accused of this even though I used the crayons just as good as anyone else). With elogs, dispatchers have it all right in front of them so only way to accuse one of burning up elog is if they see allot of long line 4, and try to get drivers to change it but all one has to do in this case is contact safety, and it's done deal.
allot harder to be fired, let go, for non performance I see it here where I am allot of drivers only drive or can drive 300 miles a day and that is a big day for them. I don't get it, and am happy to drive my 600 a day.

I've been back on paper logs for 2 days now, and I mess up so much. I have to do the whole log over again. ON the E log. A few edits and you are good. I hope my truck is out of the shop. I miss my E logs. This paper is for the birds.

where is the "personal responsibility"? if you are tired or out of hours, you dont need a computer to speak up for you, OPEN YOUR MOUTH -
i told them ok I would do it, took truck to yard, and cleaned it out, and never looked back.
there are plenty of companies that do this and what is one suppose to do, prove that what you have done is legal, only to be threaten with being fired, or just quit.
Seems to me you the one looking to blame someone other than yourself on using the elogs properly or for your below average wages. If you like what you do them go with the flow, do your 12 step program, and except the changes. If not go find another job and find some reason to cry about that.
either get with the program or get out plain and simple all your whining, and crying isn't going to change facts even though you would want others to believe that one way is better than the other. -
If others feel some sort of intimidation about a box doing the work for them, then that speaks more to them than it does to the technology. I realize change is a tough thing for some. But that is one constant in the universe.... change. We don't use horse drawn wagons anymore, we use trucks. We don't use carrier pigeons anymore, we use email. One can either sit, moan, cry in their beer or whatever, or they can get up, ruck up, and move forward.
I don't like the new engines that are being put in pickups now. Not at all satisfied with the engine in my 2013 pickup. I long for the good 'ol small blocks of the 60's. But they are not being used in vehicles anymore. So what do I do? Do I cry in my beer and just walk myself around everywhere, or do i deal with the new engines and find a way to tweak them to make them more like the older ones? I choose the later approach. This is the same with Elogs. Whine, cry, throw a tantrum, or learn to live with it and find ways to make it work in my favor? Again, I choose the later approach. And in doing so, I find it makes my life a little simpler, and covers my bacon a little better in the event something were to happen and some enterprising lawyer wanted to drag my rear into court.sdaniel, peterd, Dinomite and 1 other person Thank this. -
i make my own decisions. my laptop does all the work for me. it's better then paper. and it's better then machine on the dash.
you make your own decisions. but you work for the machine. you still let it tell you when you can and can't drive and what not.
i don't work for my laptop. it works for me. i get more done with my laptop at my own discretion, then i got done with a machine, at it's discretion.
and my laptop don't scream at me because i want to fire up my engine for heat/cold. or go shopping or something.
my laptop don't scream at me because 100 miles and 5 gallons of fuel are unaccounted for. and it don't make me park when i'm OH SO CLOSE to where i need or want to be.
my laptop don't give me triangles or exclamation marks. or tell me i need to log in. and it don't communicate with the office so that when a sensor goes bad. the office isn't calling me 10 times a day. every day of the week. asking me why i keep slamming on my brakes.
my laptop works for me. i don't work for it. and my laptop don't talk back to me.
you welcome the technology. that's your choice. but don't be preaching to us because we don't want the POS in our lives.
we make our own deicisons and we do just fine without a machine. in fact, we do better then any machine will let you beleive.
i can understand the logic of not wanting to do the math. but to say the machine makes your life better. REALLY.
my machine will run circles around your machine. and not say one word about it. unlike your machine. that's CONSTANTLY IN YOUR FACE.Joetro, Lowa3468, Rocks and 1 other person Thank this. -
