Again, i drive til my 10th hour then find a spot to park, depending on time of night I add 1/2 hour to that. But now I will be bumping that up to the 2 2-1/2 hr mark. If before 8pm I use 10 hr after 8pm 1 1/2 after 10pm 2-2 1/2 does that make sense, it should work for me anyways
No place to park and out of hours

*§ 395.2
As used in this part, the following words and terms are construed to mean: Adverse driving conditions means snow, sleet, fog, other adverse weather conditions, a highway covered with snow or ice, or unusual road and traffic conditions, none of which were apparent on the basis of information known to the person dispatching the run at the time it was begun. (emphasis, mine)

Roadmedic is picking a bone that the term "safe haven" was used to describe getting to a safe place to park with another 2 hours drive time if you encounter adverse conditions. The term "safe haven" is specific to hazmat loads.
Regarding the issue of whether or not e-logs can roll over hours, yes they can. I'm not aware of any TTR members using e-logs that have claimed otherwise or claimed they MUST take a reset when they run out of 70 (unless they were a new driver unfamiliar with how to run continuously). When I drove solo on e-logs I typically ran 2-5 weeks straight, only reseting when I took home time or if there was a delay getting another dispatch. Running about 8.75 hours a day on average keeps you running continuously. Sometimes more and sometimes less.gpsman and Little Eddy Thank this. -
So out of time you do not have a safe haven.
This is where I am asking that they support their claim with a link that shows when there is no longer parking available or hours where they are claiming it is legal.Last edited: Mar 27, 2014
