Why would a co allow a wife and pet but not a 2 yr old child? If their worried about diapers then they should be more worried about shedding and dog doodoo and peepee. Ar least the diaper keeps everything contained. Im pretty sure there are car seats for tractor trucks seats and sleeper too.

You really want to put a toddler in that environment? And will your toddler wait at the gate when you go to a shipper that prohibits anyone other than the driver from crossing their gate?

Because my dog can't open my truck door and fall out on a customers property.
Neither can my wife, because she's locked in the trailer.

I just finished a vacation with my kids. A Drive that would take me 6-7 hrs in my truck took 9-10 hrs with a 6 yo and a 5 yo. I couldn't handle it every day and I love my kids a lot. Kids don't make good passengers, especially if you have HOS and mileage pay to contend with.

Toddlers in a truck??? That's just silly and borderline abuse.

I have family in PA we like to visit often and before we had a child it would never take us more than 5.5 hrs to get there. Now that we have a son (he is now 4) we have not been able to make the trip in under 6.5-7. I would love to spend more time with my son (the wife not so much LOL) but I would not even think about bringing him on the road (not till he is much older). A ride around the nieborhood sure but not on an actuall run

As for the pets. My dog is well trained and is the perfect truck dog. She would never have an accident in the truck. I tell her "back" she goes into the sleeper. I tell her "seat" she climbs up onto the passenger seat so I can pet her. Good company on the road. She also forces me to get exercise every at the beginning and end of my shift
