70 page ELD proposal has been published for your reading enjoyment. Scanning through I caught one option they're proposing would be an on-board printer requirement. Companies would have two years to comply after the final rule is published if they don't already have EOBRs or 4 years if they do already have EOBRs.

Uhg...no exemptions for anybody, everybody will have to have these things in their truck.

Now, now driver. The government has to do something for all the campaign money they got from the Qualcomm and PeopleNet lobbyists. This helps their friends that make nice printers and scanners to go along with their ELD systems. Quid Pro Quo. Wanna get re-elected then go with the flow.
Graft, corruption, kickbacks thinly veiled as campaign contributions and expense paid vacations and gold watches? Not in Congress. Say it ain't so driver. Can't be. This is America.BigJls1, shovel98 and HalpinUout Thank this. -
Wth all this to possibly stop 24 fatality accidents a year omg so thats the total cost of running over hours
I think inexperience is resposible fo far fatality accidents and if trucks lose 10% of their efficiency running "legal" no way that savings in outlaw fatalities will be reached i garuntee with 10% more students far more than 24 more fatalities will occur what a bunch of idiots48Packard Thanks this. -
Maybe you'll get lucky and the print cartridges will fit your home computer!

Keep dreaming. The print cartridges will be unique to each model printer, will use a proprietary ink, and be serial numbered. 90 days after the printers are installed a rule change will be proposed to require a printer that takes a unique paper size that must be made from 100% recycled material sourced only from states that voted democrat or socialist. It will also be required that the printers, ink, and paper are produced with 100% union labor.mpow66m Thanks this.

And people give me funny looks when I tell them I got out because I see no future in this industry.

You had to spew the political garbage is apparent. This is more than just a political party problem.
The plan for these things have been in the making for many years over many administrations. Look at the history of them and keep an open mind.
Ray LaHood is not a socialist or democrat. He plain never had liked trucks.48Packard, Working Class Patriot and BobcatVolvo Thank this. -
