Suppport Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products.

Just wondering what the question or point here is.8T axle limits is 34000lb per tandem which is normal legal weight limits for a 5 axle semi truck. I'm pretty sure RM knows the normal legal weight limits which is 12000-34000-34000 which equals 80000lbs unless you have overweight permits or license the truck for higher weights which you can do in certain states.

 

I've had my 720 for two days now a few things I've noticed, it will occasionally route me using one path to get to the destination and a completely different path to go back to where I started.

Feature Request for future models:
Satellite view over wifi
Live weather radar over wifi (may be there but I haven't played enough to find it)
address lookup/suggestions/correction/autocomplete over wifi.

I may add other things over time as I discover them, but I find the address book very easy to use and overall a pretty nice GPS.

 

I think he just made a mistake about that. I think his issue is, that even with short routing, those two routes should have been avoided. I think that depends on the choices available to the routing algorythem under short routing's scheme.

 

There is radar- it is a static image meaning not animated. My opinion is it works better when one is zoomed out to see the whole route.

Don't want to see auto- complete. Its a nightmare on my phone alone and with all the strange names around the country, probably have a hard time getting it to work right.

 

I agree with you 100% Autocorrect is a bad idea. Now to figure out the pin-out for the video input so I can pipe in video from the Icom 7000

x2 = 32,000lbs.


A truck with 12k, 34k, & 34k would have 4 axles that were in violation by 1,000lbs each.

 

Hey all,

I have the rand mcnally 700 series and I haven't updated it since 2011 well my daughter hooked it up to update it and now when i turn it on a big screen comes up and says that the licence for the selected map database is invalid or expired!! I can't get it to go away and tech support isn't open on the weekends! what kind of tech support isn't open on the weekends!! Anyway I have to head out monday morning and I was hoping someone could help me out with fixing it. I was reading in earlier post's that with the help of tech someone learned that a file had some how corrupted during the update and the tech emailed him the new file and everything worked fine after that, was hoping someone had the file or a way to help me. Thanks so much!!

better read up on your allowable axle weights. front axle max 12000 lbs trk tandems 34000 lbs trlr tandems 34000 lbs each axle in the tandem group 17000 lbs. 8T prob just means full weight not allowed or they just rounded out the numbers usually done in spring time at ice breakup time.

 

Or my Yeasu D400. Assuming we could all agree on a standerdized digital mode like C4FM😆
