A truck stop finder app THAT WORKS ... I'd like an app that would show you all the major truck stops near you, including the independent truck stops and smaller chains like Ambest. This app would need to be updated to monthly to include all new truck stops added previous month (they are building at a phenomenal rate) and list the pertinent information that you see in the existing chain's app.
There are apps out there, but when you read the reviews, they seem to all be done half a $ $ if you read the reviews. It doesn't need to be complicated, it just needs to work well and display accurate information that is up-to-date. Once the database is built initially (would be a lot of work) it then only needs for the creator/designer to monitor corporate web sites for new locations and allow drivers to send in new or missing locations so these can be added and included in updates.
Build for Android to get the bulk of drivers, but also plan on building IOS (for me and a few others of us Apple users)scdude and Skydivedavec Thank this. -

mydat app works pretty good for truckstops. it's my second most used app behind copilot.
i think it's available for ios also.
i'd like to see an app, that would backup my entire phone. and reload it right back where i left off. everytime i do a operating system wipe. -
Especially if it had the capability like Zagat (? spllg) has with restaurant reviews. The app would always be updating by what drivers are stopping there and experiencing and rating it from 1-5 stars. If the truck stop goes out of business a driver can note it and everyone can read it that has the app. -
Hearthstone (a card game by Blizzard) for Android.

Actually Google Maps (the APP) works really well (in IOS anyway) for finding anything you're looking for and actually pretty easily but does not provide much info that truckers care for once you select a business, but I'd still pay for an app that was devoted to finding truck stops and diners with truck parking and was location and/or route aware.
I highly recommend Google Maps App. It's quick, responsive, easy and has satellite view and traffic and it's FREE -
If you're really savvy at mapping system programming, I'd like to see an app that would ask you for a starting location (default to present), then an ending location, then display the shortest practical route, then ask how many miles up the road do you want to place a "marker" for reference, then zoom to that marker. This way, if I knew I had 7.75 hours available on my clock and averaged 60 MPH, I know I can travel a maximum of 465 miles ... where is that exactly? Then perhaps plot truck stops within 75 miles prior would be even better, but once experienced drivers have a location in mind, they generally know the truck stops leading up to that point if there are any so that bonus feature would perhaps be in the "pro edition"
This feature should be included with any trucker GPS but is not.Lady K and johnbwheel Thank this. -
whoever wants app with all truck stops:
IOS version
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/truck-stops-travel-plazas/id398391903?mt=8
Android version
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.allstays.app.truckstops
Works really good, shows all large truck stops and small independent as well.
And not just tuck stops, but weight stations, wall-marts, home depots, and much more.
I bought it long time ago when it was $2. now its $10 but worth it.OW/OP Wolfman and Skydivedavec Thank this.
