I have played WoW while tethered, and the frame rate is not at all dependent on connection speed. If you get 100 FPS at home, you will get 100 FPS via the cell phone.

WoW transfers surprisingly little data. Most of what is sent to you is location data for all the players and NPCs. A slow connection can introduce lag, especially in an area where there are a lot of characters. (Remember Dalaran?) Back in Wrath, one of our raid healers was using 56K dialup to play, and it worked just fine. (As long as she remembered to disable call waiting...)

I've heard the data transfer rates were of little significance. I played on a pvp server and mostly did pvp in times of boredom. I've encountered tons of lag/latency in those places with a fairly decent system. Mostly battle grounds not arenas. I figured it was internet.

And that's pretty amazing that the dial up worked that good for her. Pretty encouraging though.

Yeah, there are some events that seem to shutdown any kind of progress if a capital city is involved.

*A bit off subject here but....
I've read that fairly recently blizzard has done a lot of server merging or something to that effect. I got tired of playing on a pvp server at one point as it was virtually impossible to do any kind of daily quests without constantly getting into faction confrontation ( I know the price to pay to be on a pvp server. lol ) .... Anyway, I wanted to just transfer all my bind on account items but not have to pay to high price for the switch of a toon to get them over. Now one can transfer BOA items through mail.

Yup, and you can mail money from one server to the next. Kind of kills the instant millionaire capability.

xXKillerDoxenXx. It's also my xbox gamertag. I don't play a whole bunch. Just when I'm bored. Haven't had a lot of time lately with planning a trip overseas in a week.

I play on my Surface Pro 2, and it's quite a capable machine. I played Call of Duty on it. Portal 2 is a good one. Powerful but portable.

I fool around with FL Studio on it, music creation program, which can hobble some decent units. Set to max power and it works without too much latency.

I plan on taking my PS4 mostly for Single Player and watching movies during longer down times. I have to agree that most of the 10 hrs should be used for sleeping. But there are always going to be those times when there is more than a 10 hr wait and I want something to help me pass the time in the truck. At home most of my free time is spent gaming. I don't watch much TV. I've found Netflix on my Phone will play pretty decently even with a 3g connection so that should be good too. But I don't see any problems gaming on the road as long as you manage your sleep properly. Thankfully I do have a grandfathered plan through Verizon with unlimited data. I'll pay full price for my next phone to keep that.

I hope you have a really good inverter. I had a ps4 on the truck and the ps4 would brown out when the APU kicked on to charge the batteries. this was with an 1800 watt inverter. might just be the ps4 has a finicky power supply, after all its internal and very small so who knows..you will always get slight surges whether ur starting the truck or having the APU crank up. its the only electronic device I've had on there thats really sensitive to it. if you really must have a next gen system on there just get the new xbox or a laptop
