Well, its been a little while since I checked in here, to tell the truth, I have a hard time detailing my daily/weekly activities. But this past month has been tough. In the middle of Feb, we were in Lewiston ME and noticed a coolant leak, so we took it to the Kenworth shop there, after taking a look at, they determined it was a leaking head gasket and had the time to get it done. After a week of ordering parts and doing the labor we finally got the truck back. After a 1000 miles, it started leaking again in the same place, so I decided I was going to get it back to Portland,OR (home). We were putting a 1/2 gallon of coolant a day into it, but made it back to Portland. Took it to the KW shop there. A couple of days later they said, that they replaced the head, and gaskets, only to have it leak again in the same place. So, between dealing with Kenworth coporate, and SFI over the course of a few days and a weekend. They decided to replace the entire engine, when then took a week to get....long story short, we were down 3 weeks in Portland. Thankfully we were at our home town, where our family and vehicle is parked. Note: we dont have a home anymore, so were in the Hotel for the whole 3 weeks, which we finally got KW to pay for. Anyway, now we are back on the road, and for the most part, all is well. We still have a couple of minor issues, but nothing that will stop us from making money. BTW, this is in a 2014 KW T680 with 50K miles.

It's running the same with one exception, the old engine had a lot of turbo backfire when shifting as well as the coolant leak, now no more backfire and no more leak

Running strong and comfortably ( loads I booked are an easy schedule not to much time but not too tight either).. After delivery in Denver area booked a load from Denver to Salt Lake UT. Delivered that load and booked another on down to Southern Cal. Was hoping the part (smart charger) for my Tri Pac would be in by the time I got there. Called Thermo King today to check on it and they said "no, part won't be here".. IMAGINE THAT! They originally said it would take 5 days. It's been 6.. I had another load picked already with enough time built into it to get the truck worked on. So now instead of doing that I will spend a little more time at home..
Have booked myself up for about 2 weeks. After home time grabbing a load close by and heading up to Patterson CA.. Then Lodi CA to Fort Wayne IN then picking up out of Huntington IN turn around and head back to UT! Some pretty good loads too!
That should give Thermo King about 2 more weeks to get that part in.. Oh you bet! I will be calling every other day to find out if they are on it. Want to get that fixed ASAP.
