What you want is a android device that saves to a sd card. Then you can find most any new printers out there that have a sd card reader.
As to printers? I have an older HP Photosmart C4500 series that was good to me when on the road. It has the card reader functions as well as a scanner. Nice for copying BOL's and other documents.broodmom Thanks this. -
any wireless printer, any android phone with mobile hot spot capabilites. (pretty much all these days). and a wireless print app. (probably have to pay for a good one to work).
i bought the first hp wireless printer. about 5 years ago. it has no sd card slots. and prints just fine from my phone or tablet. or laptop if i desire.
i certainly have no desire to take my phone apart just to retreive the sd card.
the wireless printer connects through your phone's hot spot. the hot spot acts as a wireless router. -
The next step is a blue tooth printer. That way it just prints without having to turn on the wifi. The ones I am looking at are HP and $200. But dont take up much room.

I should also point out. Because the printer has a flatbed scanner, that is where I store the paper. Dont use the tray, leaving the tray open will cause the ink to prematurely dry out.
The printer is 5 inches tall and about the size of 9 x 14. -
I just bought the Epson XP400. Awesome little printer, fits in cabinet, has WiFi and I use and Android as hotspot, work with my laptop via hotspot as well. It's real compact and easy to use, controls are on front side.

I use an HP Officejet 100 Mobile printer. It has Wifi and Bluetooth, has a rechargeable battery pack (charges from the printers own power cord when needed), is pretty compact too. No scanner, just a basic printer. Works like a charm. But I bought and downloaded a third party app called Printershare to use, it works better than the HP app.
*Edit* I believe there is a model 200 as well, with a scanner for a hundred bucks more, the 100 cost me about $200 around 18 months ago. Got it from Staples/Office Depot.281ric Thanks this.
