After reading this, which was exactly what I was looking/hoping for in a reply, I have sent Kim an email and told her to sign me on with the Curtainside division. Kind of like the idea of not messing with frozen tarps and such! Oh and the idea of having the opportunity of getting home most weeks since living in WI.

our turnover is 120% for various reasons, and I also think they have more drivers than freight demand

I want to know where he got that number. Lol. Trained alot of guys here. Only had two quit (and I knew they would) not saying he's wrong. Just seems awful high to me. I'm clocking 2700 to 2800 a week on average in a 5 day period so I can contest to there being no shortage. Most of the people that don't get miles are the ones who's cry and whine. Now that's most of the time. But as with every company load planners and fleet managers do pick favorites. If that happens you call in and tell the dm and tell him you want someone else. This happened when I was on flatbed. 1400 to 1600 a week I called up and told them I wanted a new fm. My miles jumped way up after that.

Yes. But find a company that doesn't. If it's a larger carrier and they say other wise they are full of it and it's recruiters wanting body's. The winter took a toll on me (but who didn't take a hit) but the last 4 weeks I've gotten 2766, 2608, 2847, and 2732 for miles. Now bear in mind 8 out of 10 times I drop and hook then take off again. I don't sit because I'm on a deticated account. And thank god I get paid loaded and empty. Because half the time II'm hauling sail boat fuel.

Are you with Roehl? Is all their trucks slip seating???? I talked to a recruiter about 7/7 and 7/3/7/4 andd it seems like he indicated it was. Roehl was indeed my choice of choices but I also live about 2.5 hrs from Ellenwood and was told I would have to leave the truck on lot because of slip???? I would love for that to be wrong info and try to get with them....How long are you guys out at a time? They seem to be a high pay company with stability...

So if I wanted to drive from them and do No slip seat and with the distance I live from Ellenwood, would I be able to bring a truck home? What division would I go to as a newbie and out times?

I thought I was told on the 7/4 7/3 home time I would be able to take the truck home, if not what fleet do you have to be in to take the truck home with you.

If you want to get away from slip seating, you'd have to get on the regional or national fleets. If you can land a dedicated route you would be able to take your truck home also provided you have an approved place to keep it.
