Obviously you did not read or comprehend my original post. I do not rip out pages as stated in my post my logs are truthful. If I'm over on hours I'm over and is logged as such and why. I don't own a crystal ball so my planing is limited. For example I pick up my load in Boston and can usually make it to Columbus, OH in my 11 hrs of drive time. Sometimes run into a traffic jam or a wreck along the way and now have to use a back up plan and park somewhere around Youngstown, OH. However if the delay is bad enough my backup plan is thrown out the window also and have to find a new place to park before Youngstown. So get through the delay and find a place to park safely. If I go over on my hours I log it down. My point was that in my past 20+ years of driving if I got pulled over somewhere between the backup and finding a place to park most of the time the officer would point out that I was over on my hours. I would explain where I was planing on going to park and how I was caught in traffic because of a wreck or whatever. Used to be that most of the officers would understand and let you go park without writing you up. Some would even follow me down the road to make sure I parked and I have no problems with that. However nowadays I run into more and more who want to enforce the HOS to the letter and they throw out any logic or reasoning and just write you up. I'm not saying I go over every day, every week or even evry month but sometimes it happens and when it does nothing you can do about it and you just log it down and move on.

Now when elogs come along I will continue to do the same thing and let the little chatter box beep at me till I'm parked. I don't care if it records the drive line to the second or not. My point is that computers these days have become so integrated into our lives that people stop thinking for themselves. When elogs happens it happens I will install one in my truck and let it do its thing. However I will not let it dictate my thinking I will still plan out 11hr days and a 10hr back up plan. I will not plan a 8-9 hr day if I wanted a 9-5 job I would go get one.

besides your excuses are flimsy at best

I know you run that lane his name was Casey he worked at westbound Loma. Notice how it's a Colorado instead of a Utah/Colorado scale now? This was back in 2010. He definatly had small man syndrome. All the Utah officers I've talked to know him and claim"he doesn't work here anymore".

Pot, meet Tea Kettle. You may have a lot of experience on paper. However, from your posts, it looks like you've got zero experience with elogs.

youre doing the exact same thing you criticize that guy for doing. Repeating what you heard and speculating from what you you think you know.

"have to take a 34". Really?

Here's a basic about elogs that make them all the same: they follow the HOS rules.

if I don't want to take 34, I don't have to. If I happen to get a 34 break, I still don't have to take it. I push the "34 reject" button and continue to run on recap, with the option to take a 34 that I really want to use later in the week.
