Here's a feature request you might consider passing on...

For team driving mode, save preferences separately for each driver. That way, whenever a team switches drivers, the preferences automatically reset to what that driver likes.

Such a feature would make teams more likely to utilize the team driving aspect of the gps that otherwise wouldn't, especially in a team situation where one driver spends an inordinate amount of time driving nights. Us graveyard shifters don't like our gizmos being screwed with.

Just interested- what perferences would you consider to be individually orientated? The TND720 logging feature is already set up for that- what else? Not trying to throw water on your sugesstion- just curious.

Being on home time, I don't have the unit in front of me to reference. Off the top of my head, I'd say day/night driving mode, vehicle icon, map options (which POIs are displayed), zoom level...

Basically, everything except the actual route settings. Those should be kept global for consistency.

It'd also be nice to have the ability to lock preferences & routing (not change origin/destination, but allow finding POI's along the route for fueling/rest stops, etc), that'd be handy for trainers to be able to set a route & go to bed without wondering if their trainee would have the unit all screwed up when he/she woke up.

I can see your point. I actually like your idea of some sort of lock out better though. It even prevent accidental changes by us single drivers.

Then once it is locked out and they forget the pw... call Rand CS? How would RM be set up for verification that the person holding it is actually the person owning the unit? Many do not register.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Taking a page out of Garmin's playbook, you can set a home point that you would need to take the GPS to in order to unlock it (I used my home terminal).

Then, if you forget the password, just take the unit home to recover access. Problem solved. :)
