Im 22 years old, and do not have my cdl yet. I was just offerd a job from a family friend who own a gas hauling company. The owner told me if i get my cdl w/haz and tank ive got a $20 hour local job. However ive always wanted to go otr. What im asking is, if you had the offer i have, would you take it? I mean its pretty rare that someone gets an opprotunity like this, right?

I would take it but on the flip side,if you decide you wanna go OTR later on you'll probably have to go thru training. So keep that in mind.

Thats very true! I would love to have this job but the only thing im hesitant about is, i will be working nights, and all the drops will be in detroit.

you'd be stupid to pass it up.

going OTR wouldn't even be a consideration for anyone with a brain. that's half pay and NEVER home. as a company driver, you'd be lucky to find anything better short of owning your own truck.

Depends on what type of trucking your in but yes take the job! I would love to be a fuel hauler at home everyday... those jobs are not easy to come by so take the job and stay there! OTR isn't all its cracked up to be... you;ll only have to run nights for a couple years probably and the road is a lonely place. At least you will have a life!
