Back when I had a fresh, warm CDL I took a local job doing both.
It was a road construction company and I hauled gravel, sand, asphalt etc etc in an end dump and when needed I pulled a tanker with liquid asphalt. It didn't pay all that great but it did get my foot in the door for getting some valuable tanker experience. Some might call me crazy but I like hauling tanks. So to answer your question with my biased opinion... Tanker

If your looking to get home everyday than I would look into hauling gasoline. I dont think you can really go wrong with either though. Best thing about fuel is your not dependant on anyone but yourself when loading and unloading. There might be an occasional problem at the loading racks or a car parked in the drop area at the station but not all to common. You will most likely run heavy with either one though but no big deal when your use to it.

Good move...tanker is the easiest way to get paid...most paid well except for oversize loads
