Yeah its weird, I've not bought tires down there, but my bosses always said tires were cheaper there, not sure if it was because they are imported into the bay area, or what. You'd think that it'd be cheaper in Oregon with no tax up here, but I bought glass for my broken car window down there and paid a third of the price in the bay area. Must be the same with tires.

shouldnt the truck have been in alignment when you got it? Seems to me that SNI should foot at least part of this bill.

Well I was reading his early posts and he said they gave him a coupon for a free alignment, but I though they did the alignment the first week. Maybe that was someone else's thread. I know most if the companies I've worked for have the centermatics.

We found out the hard way Frieghtliner does not balance at the factory and Schneider does not do it before you get it. We had to replace the steers at 65000 miles. John says take it to the dealer to get it aligned correctly. They said the toe was out a quarter of and inch and had never been checked since assembly.

The first 4 pms on my company truck I had to have the alignment done before Truck Country finally got it right.

That's just nutty, SNI telling you how, and where to spend your money. How much interest are they getting, maybe that's why they won't let you spend it.

Ronnie Beck's alignment @ 2229 Bishop Rd Greensboro NC is one of the best alignment shops around the triad he taught most of the guys at snider tire. 336-854-2855 He kept up my truck fair price. He knows trucks don't sell tires does frame and axle alignments only. Shares building with a trailer repair shop he works out of the last 2 bay doors. Place looks like a junk yard but he is good. About all O/O in the triad use him or know about him.

It really can be a PITA dealing with the PAACAR folks, but I think that the reason they do stuff like this is they (SNI) don't want drivers 'gaming' their maintenance account by going to their buddy and saying "hey, lets tell them we're putting $1000 worth of tires on this truck. You keep $200 and I'll keep the rest.". When you go for a service, they'll tell the garage, "nothing goes out the door".
