Total speculation on my part, but putting some of the facts together, early model 2007 Volvo tractor, day cab, running in California, would have to have a after market DPF system installed on it to run CARB compliant in the state, witness says truck was on fire drone underneath rear of cab when it went across median. This might, and as it said before, total speculation, be one of many DPF fires caused by truck being forced to run this faulty equipment by CARB? Will we see.

If stuff like this keep happening it will keep the d.o.t man messing with us....they will never raise the speed limit. ..

It's helpful if they have training to help them recognize when they're "too tired to drive". Those microsleeps can come and go when you don't "feel" tired, and so fast the uninitiated do not recognize them.

    Eyewitness testimony is notoriously inaccurate.

The posted speed limit is 70 for that territory.
Most of the media coverage has that speed limit sign in their report.

Drove for an carrier that had pro star cummins power.
Nothing but problems with that regen system as the miles add up.
The computer could fail while in the regen cycle, and send the fuel instead of exhaust for burning, a navistar mechanic told me that.

I'm pretty sure that Rugerfan was remarking on the truck speed limit and the commonality of Fed Ex pushing 65. Truck speed limit (posted) is 55, buses like RV's and any 4 wheeler is 70.

We won't know what happened until long after most have forgotten about the accident, if ever.

Another terrible tragedy to remind us how quick things can happen.

    R.I.P. victims.
