Well, the 34 hours is your own free time, so....do what ya wanna. Sleep, shower, laundry, watch TV, bobtail to a movie, whatever. Of course your options are gonna be limited depending on where you are during your reset, and if they'll allow you to drop your trousers....errr, trailer.
-
Lord help em, if I have to take a reset anywhere within 20 miles of the Mexican border. I won't be fit to drive. -
Well look at it this way. I seldom have to do a restart on the road, but when I do I just tell myself well my stress level is down. I can sleep in and not set the alarm. I don't have to work on something at home. I do look for a bigger truck stop so I can do laundry and watch TV in the drivers lounge.
-
Do you drink a beer or two?
-
I used to have a beer or two while on a reset.
Shoot, there were a couple times in Laredo I was flat out drunk. Good thing I had from Friday night til Monday before driving again.
-
well, you usually know somewhat in advance when you are gonna have some downtime, so look for a larger truckstop like was said before. also look as your going down the highway for a walmart, or any number of those large shopping centers popping up everywhere it seems. Bass Pro shops, Cabellas all have truck parking, most movie theatres are easy to get into as well, if your not opposed to walking a little ways.
good luck -

I agree. restock the truck up with supplies and get the laundry deed out of the way. Then you can do whatever floats your boat !!!

Doc is my hero in Laredo. Ya need the whole weekend to recover if you go over on a Friday night.
