4.5 mpg would be bragging.Everything bolts up the same on the Marine ,its just a heavy duty set up.The old man I bought it off of had already dropped it down in there less than 5 thousand mile before I traded for it .I was told (by a guy who actually did a lot of the work on it)he had had it tweeked to 750 hp / 15 spd with the big hole on the dash when he was putting it all together, got scared of twisting everything up constantly and had them drop it back to 635 hp and he settled for a warmed over super 10 and 3.36 rears. He got ARRESTED in Little Rock on the way back from Cali on his maiden voyage at 119 mph (that's not the only reason he got pinched, but that was ONE of the charges and he said that wasn't near as fast as he HAD been running it.You would have to know this old guy) and thats the reason I got it(insurance companies have his poster on the wall).I LOVE a fast truck and always have considered myself to be able to run with ANY of the left lane cowboys any time, any where you wanna try me ,but I was GLAD he didn't keep it at 750 hp when I got it and thats saying a whole lot there.Hot Rod old trucks like that you don't just hold the wheel, sit in the seat staring around and farting because if you do one of several things can happen quick with the first one being a ticket that you'll have to call home for bail money or you'll lean over to break wind, gouge the pedal and end up twisting something out of her garter belts. You have to DRIVE them kinda trucks. And with all the throw together parts on them you have to love them to put up with them.Kinda like a farm girl built redhead.Best looking ,sweetest thing in the world one minute, trying to kill you or drive you insane the next minute.

As for a 3406e and a 3408.Those motors play in totally different sand boxes at the playground. The 3408 being the big kid who comes along and kicks sand all over the E model and then takes its matchbox cars away from it.

go get them parts...I bet there´s nothing more than bigger injectors and bigger pistons in the pump and some bigger cams inside the injector.

The Scania V8 marine version is a Twin turbo 850hp gun.
At my former outlet there was a former ScaniaMarine mechanic and he stated the military emergency rating was it 2hrs WOT or something ? Rating was 1100hp...
Now I know of a guy running 1000hp Twin turbo´d Scania over here...

    Muleskinner,

119mph, that is good. Now could a D16 Volvo run that fast?
