    Day 1

So today was my first day with Superior and it went well. We did new hire paperwork which didn't really take all that long. Once we were done with the paperwork I watched a hazmat video and took a test afterwards. Then they got my size for shirts and put together a bag for me that had rubber boots, gloves, respirator, goggles, hard hat etc... After lunch I watched a couple safety videos and took took another test which was pretty easy. I met the guys at the shop and that pretty much concluded my first day.
I will be with my local trainer tomorrow morning starting at 6:30...will update tomorrow eve.

They hire from approved schools or I believe with 12-18 months OTR experience. The pay is $100 per day while in training. Once on your own .47 loaded .40 empty and lots of other misc pay. Hope this helps you.

    Day 2

Today I got to feel the surge!! Picked up trailer in yard for 9am delivery got to location about 8:45am. It took about 1hr 20min to pump off so while that was happening my trainer went over all the shipping papers etc. Once we were done we stopped for lunch and discussed various situations I may encounter when on my own. After lunch we went to the tank wash in Duncan and my trainer went over the paperwork procedure there. We then hooked up to a empty pre-tripped it and headed back to the terminal. Back at the terminal we went over the qualcomm and how to use it. As of now I am scheduled to go OTR with a trainer starting on Friday. Trying to figure out what all I should bring.

I just took 2 or 3 changes of clothes plus my toiletries. You'll be in a hotel every night, and most have laundry. There is still a potential for cool weather, so I'd bring a jacket of some sort. I've been wearing a hoodie the last few days and have been fine.

Just make sure you can carry it in 1 trip to and from the truck. I only had 1 OTR trip. I brought my PPE bag, one small shoulder bag of clothes and my laptop shoulder bag.

Talk to your trainer about how long you will be out and what to bring.

They did not waste any time letting you pull a loaded trailer. That is good though. They make trainees wait at our terminal for a week or so. Just remember, every load is different. Some don't move much and others will knock your you know what in the dirt.

Congrats on getting started with your training. You will have fun.
