Any flatbed companies that do not govern to 62MPH?

I've been looking to switch over to pulling a flatbed and have noticed that all the companies I look into govern their trucks to 62 MPH.

I'm used to 67-70 MPH trucks and have hauled sensitive loads and doubles with no load or speeding issues. Why do all the flatbed companies cut their trucks back so much?

What I am looking for is a flatbed company that gets me home on weekends in the GA area and has at least a 65 MPH truck. Any suggestions?

It seems the only way to get a faster truck is to go the O/O route.

it wouldn't surprise me to see that. flatbed freight is the worse when it comes to wind dynamics. flatbed freight is the worse fuel mileage one can haul.

Reason is most flatbed freight isn't super time sensitive. fuel savings are a lot by going 62 instead of 65. That being said, when i I buy another truck and hire drivers in a few months I dont govern at 62. I find the extra 3 mph does make a difference depending on th week.

Depends ont he load, but flatbed is way more dangerous then doubles when it comes to speed induces roll over. And yes i have hauled both.

check out marvick...i thought they were 65

L.B., check out Averitt. Trucks are governed at 65mph. We have service centers all over Georgia, home weekly.

Averitt has flatbeds? I haven't seen those around here. There is a terminal in Macon, never seen anything but vans in there.

Cypress and Howard Transportation are flatbed; don't know their top speed.

They have been trying to expand the flatbed side. I haven't seen any in Macon but then again I only have ever been there once. Send me a message if you want to know more.

I'd prefer faster too but I guess 65 is my minimum.

Most medium to big companies are setting there trucks at 62 to 65 to mainly save money fuel. I am with Melton and we are set at 65. I know mostly for safety and fuel savings. I am betting that companies would also save money on issurence cost as well. Melton probably cant get you home every weekend. but every other week since you live east of I 35. every 3 weeks if living west of I 35
