For a guy out of work you sure do have a lot of demands.

You've been fired THREE times in less than a year, a handful of companies are willing to take a chance and give you a fourth chance to prove you "aren't that guy" and you nitpick reasons why you don't want to work for them. You turn a job down cause they have apu's. This is perfectly reasonable?

:biggrin_2554::biggrin_2554: As in my earlier post I don't think you're quite understanding you're the prospective employee not the employer.

Although some of your requirements aren't unreasonable, a couple of them are pretty out there.

No paper logs? Chances are the companies who will roll the dice and take a chance on you are going to be smaller, not the megas. There's nothing wrong with that (most guys would rather drive for mom and pop than mega) but most small carriers don't have e-logs. If you take the job with Indian River you'll be running paper.

Taking the truck home isn't necessarily unreasonable, but you might find a local company that you'll be able to commute to. Or you'll find your dream job where you have to drive back and forth. You only want to be home 4 days a month (I'm assuming they'll be back-to-back) so you'll only be driving it like twice a month (there and back). I definitely wouldn't let that stop you from a good driving job.

30 CPM, kind of low wages but it's your life. You should find that fairly easily with your experience.

No APU, really? Obviously you've never had one or you'd change your mind. Your argument about weight holds no water since DOT gives you a break for the APU weight. Also, companies know what the truck weighs empty, with the APU, so they'll book accordingly. They can be a matter of safety, too. Who wants to lie in their sweat in west Texas in a 110* truck and get an hour sleep over their 10 hours when you can sleep comfortably? Also, that inverter you speak of may not be allowed at all companies. Some make it an automatic termination if they find one.

Only OTR, no hometime, no teams all sound like something companies would be looking for. I'm with you on the no team for sure and I've ran them. Companies look for people that want to be OTR and don't want to be home.

No Auto trans. Again, I agree with you that I like a manual too, but if I found the right job with an Auto I'd be on it like ugly on an ape. You've got to be somewhat flexible. And, yes, I drove an Auto for a good while and they have their upsides. I'm just not a huge fan.

I think some most of your demands are fairly reasonable. However, your attitude is not. If someone says a thing about you, your work history (which, let's face it, stinks to high-heaven even if none of it was your fault) and you bull up and get majorly defensive. I bet every time your dispatcher put you on a run that was too short, or too long, or too regional, you did the same thing. I've known guys like that and they didn't make it long. Chill out a little and maybe you'll find something. If I had been termed three times in a year I'd be thankful I got anything and then worked toward my dream job.

I think most people will agree that you seem to have an attitude problem (maybe you don't, I'm just assuming here) based on how you treat posters about KW and Pete trucks. You are in the minority since Paccar makes some real nice equipment (their starter trucks are nicer than Freightliners O/O spec'ed models) but it's your opinion and you're entitled to it. But if you mark off every company that runs that equipment, you're making a mistake. TransAm would likely fit all the other criteria (except possibly APU) but they have the wrong kind of equipment. You might as well call Indian River back to and refuse a job because they primarily run Petes. Oh, and the chances of you getting a Cascadia with SNI is slim. They are still running Century Class trucks that were wore out when I quit them 7 years ago.

Good luck man, I honestly mean that. Hopefully you'll find something. Let us know how it goes at the new company.

i'll explain my side of the story and why,

I have no experience running paper logs, I only know Qualcomm and electronic logs. Also its a good way to inform dispatch "yea this is/isn't getting done"

I have no POV, (long story, most of you will agree with me) but I can acquire one if i'm home

being home 4-6 days a month is the most efficient for me, I do not have a family, no spouse, no offspring and I have no plans on getting either one, I would like to have a girlfriend and maybe she'd like to put me up for a few days, but I know neither will ever happen

30CPM is actually pretty standard, one can get right out of school and get 25-27, so i'm getting slightly more than a new student, the only difference is i'm not fighting it. if a company wants to pay me more then thats fine

I don't want an APU because I can handle living 12% idle. if i'm cold i'll just bundle up, if i'm warm then i'll sweat. i'm not afraid to be cold or to sweat. I spent the winter in Wisconsin so I have been in the cold in cold climates. second, if I get one i'll probably like it, and then after I get fired i'll be frustrated because my next truck won't have one. also i'll probably forget to turn it off in the morning. how do you explain to breakdowns "my APU is broken" they have more important things to fix

I am not going to explain why I don't want an AutoTrans, there is no explanation needed why

I like having a prepass and ezpass, I like them and i've been spoiled by them

I didn't throw a fit with my loads, only one time did I have an issue because a load was too short, the load was 5 miles so I didn't even fill out a trippack, i'll do it for free, since it will take me more time to fill out the trippack than it was to run the load, I decided to do the load for free. Heck, another time I threw hometime away to get a good load, my driver Manager wasn't too happy with me but it worked itself out, I got off hometime with a good check, my next one wasn't as good but I expected as much

I was lucky enough to get a Cascadia with SNI, I know alot of people aren't fans of them but I was lucky enough to get one, if I got a century i'd be fine with that.

the reason I would like to go to Indian River is because of Tanker Endorsement, that's something that alot of people want, and i'd like to get a bit more tank experience

Do you have flatbed experience? Or you prefer to bump a dock?
