If his software was really good he should just bundle into a app and sell it in googles play store for like $50. He would sell more this way. Here's the deal. A trucker one that isn't technically savvy walks into petro sees this tablet and thinks wow great deal. Buys it starts messing with and soon it starts to lag, freeze up etc. Driver gets po and either a returns it or B chucks it a four Wheeler that is annoying him. There is a sucker born every moment and the saying goes you get what u pay for. So
Many consumers get burned every year by buying a cheap tablet.

considering that the table is $270 last i checked. it's pretty expensive for a 7 in screen.

considering that it has truck gps software. it's cheaper then buying a 7 inch garmin or rand or whatever. and does a heck of a lot more.

    i think it's a good deal.

and as for freeze ups. and what not. don't see that happening. android is a stable operating system. and have yet to hear of a tablet being a POS.

i do know of one tablet though. that has virtually unuseable gps. because of the broadcom chip. and since my samsung note 2 phone also has gps problems. i'm starting to think it has that same POS broadcom chip.

Want to see a android tablet lock up... Get the original Galaxy Tab 7 running 2.3.(BTW, similar specs as the truckers tablet)

As for the Note 2, that is a software issue. My Note 2 GPS works flawlessly with Jedi Master.

Have the Truckers Tablet and have been using for a couple of months now. GPS is still better that the Cobra or the Rand Mcnalley and I have owned both. So, as a GPS unit alone, is a better buy for the same amount of money. The tablet is mediocre with limited battery life, no bluetooth and a fairly slow processor but still handles email and the occasional Netflix movie. The GPS routing is excellent so far and Hazmat routing has been spot on. I do not use it as my primary navigation but always compare it's directions with my dispatch orders and customer directions. So far, hasn't missed a lick. The rerouting speed is amazing if you have gotten used to other GPS units. This software can reroute as fast as you can say the word "reroute"! There are some features I would like to see added and they may already be there but I haven't had the time to play with all the possible features and configurations.

Still not with it. Old specs 2 year old operating system. Still cheaper to get the nexus 7 2013 edition or even the LG gpad 8.3. Then if you really want a trucking map software pc miler is in the play store. Also the apps it comes with is in the playstore

pc miler? really. The same software that alot of companies use to route us drivers through back roads and congested streets, the same software that they use to short change us on miles? yeah the heck i will ever go with that.

Oh then you need to buy an external gps atenna too dont forget because the gps in the tablets you describe are not the same as in this trucker tablet i am sure. then lets not forget the software either that comes with this tablet:

Also i will be using this as my truck gps. I do not have to use the tablet part if i do not want to seeing that i can do so much more on my laptop. No i do not want to use my laptop as a navigation unit. too big for that seeing it is a 17" laptop.

2 years ago the operating system was 2.3. ---- 4.2 was just released not too long ago.

pc miler isn't in the play store. but there ARE other truck gps apps. full fledged downloadable maps.

it would be nice if we could just buy that gps app though.

Technically it would have been ICS (4.0). And PC Miler is under your favorite, Copilot.
