One hill I've always respected is Chattanooga in TN. For some reason I find it scary.

Please stop calling Cabbage Hill "Cabbage Patch. That is an insult to us. It is CABBAGE HILL. Cabbage Patch is a doll or a garden. Thank you. Respect The Hill.

    48Packard Thanks this.

If your taking about Mont eagle on I-24,
that isn't a big mtn. maybe a mole hill at best.
45 ph over it? Hell Donner Pass doesn't even drop the speed, and it's 5x's longer and steeper.

    48Packard Thanks this.

Actually its called Emigrant Hill. Its a 6% grade
You drop about about 2000 feet in 6 miles. If
you go down it at the proper speed in the right
gear for your vehical weight its no worse then
plenty of other mountains. Being in a hurry is
    what causes most accidents.

The reason it's called Cabbage Patch is the people who live in that area resemble Cabbage Patch dolls. When you visit Philippines you see all those Pinoys. When you visit New Zealand you see all those Kiwis.

We all know the original name is Immigrant Hill, but it has been called Cabbage Hill for over a hundred years. We know the percent grade, we also remember Old "Cabbage Hill" road. We look at Cabbage Hill every day. We smell the brakes as they pass through town ever day. We hear the sirens when they speed up the mountain to the many wrecks from those who do not "Respect The Hill". There was a message that we look like cabbage patch dolls, with slant eyes. It wasn't you, but it was rude. The hill is nick named and called by locals and world wide, "Cabbage Hill". Named by the locals because of the farmer who grew Cabbage on the mountain over 100 years ago. That's all we ask, Respect The Hill and call it Immigrant Hill, or Cabbage Hill.

I read on this site, when I signed up, that we are not supposed to insult others on the site. I do not have slant eyes nor do I look like a Cabbage Patch Doll nor does anyone I know in these parts, and I know almost everyone. I just made a friendly request. If you can't respect the Hill, don't come out here. Respect The Hill and call it by the correct name. Either Immigrant Hill or Cabbage Hill.
