No, he kept post humping about how you guys are working for free and this is how it should really be. Kind of like you in the Knight thread I started. Good day sir.

He attacked me at every turn. And then runs to the mods. I'm not allowed to say what I feel about someone who can't work. But it is what it is.

Here's a tidbit (msg 142 from the new, new adventure thread) that came to my attention:

Humph! For a minute there a little dark swirl came by my chair here and, I swear, thought I heard the voices of the past again... well, nothing that the Ghostbuster's vac wouldn't just suck down and away, I guess.

The 'new adventure' boys are gone and moved on to new, new adventures. Greyhound, after all, is the 'last man standing'--well, him and 2,000 other drivers out there in smurf blue trucks, seven days a week, 24/7.

Had Gordon spun the entire 120-seat Midwest US Fleet unit off from its large fleet of 2,000 trucks, you'd have what? A small, long-load trucking company for runs from Midwest to West and back about the size of, well, about the size of and even a little smaller than South East Carriers, to name just one.

That didn't make sense to Gordon, probably so that it could utilize those trucks regionally at either end. Drivers told me when I took my (first-and-only since I gave two-week notice in West Sacramento) 2,000 mile run from Pontoon to Clackamas that Gordon would 'lose me' in the Northwest for a couple weeks. So I was warned about that and good with it. Gave me a chance to learn more about the behemoth-sized labyrinth that Gordon was and under HTLD certainly still is, different terminals and loads out west, different issues and real hills.

I've pointed out before but it's worth stating again that Gerdin said right off that he handled 'loads that missed the boat or train' differently, with teams. So he could take 60 trucks out of the 120-seat Midwest US Fleet and continue 'keep the best, get rid of the rest' while sculpting GTI into a leaner company (which he no doubt continues to do)...

Ya Vic Im still here just finished 11,500 miles this last month. With going out on the 4th. and having 2 days off for service and a fix done makes about 24 days worked.. i also got a litle 100 in detention pay for the month. So avg around 460 milers a day I guess. Most of my loads were 600 to 1400 miles with 3 being under 600.

I think it might be just a little better than you did here. Well maybe as much as you did in 5 moths here.... :yes2557:

    Very cool, Greyhound.

Does s-l-i-g-h-t-l-y exceed the PEE WEE loads and PEE WEE wages I usually got at Gordon--the magic of short loads and no pay for loading/unloading. Pay-wise, outside of Gordon, trucking has always treated me well--and still does.

    Now, though, you're THE MAN!

So it's great to hear from you and refreshing that you:

    a) do not sound at all unhappy, and

    b) are doing well at HTLD/GTI!

Oh I wish that heartland never bought GTi But that the way it is. This was a good month But when Heartland does take over Gti and we all know that it will, those months are not gonna happen. Till that time I run and make money.

Right now I stay here because of the Insurance. i make the best of everthing I can. I have a good DM that knows Im here to make money. I dont need to be baby sat by anyone. I do my stuff on time or have a good reason I dont. In the mean time I keep my eyes open for Opportunities that may come up.
